Hammer's pick of the week.

Sometimes you need a bar, most of them are all the same maybe a few designs stand out from the rest. Well I just happen to stumble across this beauty tonight and said to myself, I gotta have one.

Thats 10 soldid oz. Of pure Britannia love. Just look at the details. And the wavy lines, I bet this thing is gonna be impressive once I get to hold it.

The back of the bar could be a little better in design but hey the front of the bar is cool enough. Plus look at the water waves at the bottom of the bar, nice added touch.

Here is a little bit of information provided by JMBullion.

Each of the 10 oz British Silver Britannia Bars available in this product listing marks the first-ever issue of a Britannia design on a Royal Mint bullion bar. The design is available on a 1 oz gold bar and on a 100 oz silver bar in addition to this option. The bars are individually housed in tamper-evident packaging and are available for individual purchase or bulk orders of 50 bars per box.

When the Roman Empire expanded beyond its continental European borders in the 1st century, the British Isles was its first target. Once the Romans had occupied as much of England as it could, the province became known as Britannia. Over time, Britannia came into being as a mythical figure that Britons believed protected the Isles from invaders.

On the obverse of the 10 oz British Silver Britannia Bar is the image of Britannia created just for this collection. This new vision of Britannia is inspired by classical artwork and features a right-profile portrait of her figure with a trident in one hand and a shield with the Union Jack emblazoned upon it in the other. She wears a lightly armored chest plate and a Corinthian helmet.

The reverse face of British Silver Britannia Bars features the seal of the Royal Mint of England at the top. Below it are engravings of the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. The background field of both sides includes waving lines, while the bottom of this side of the bar has additional waves of the sea in the design element.

The Royal Mint of England was founded in 886 by Alfred the Great and unified as a singular minting system in 1279. Jody Clark, who worked with the Royal Mint on Queen Elizabeth IIs fifth-generation portrait on coins, created the vision of Britannia on these bars.

A very beautiful Britannia bar. The wave effect is top. Good acquisition.

I like the classical design of this bar, it is a different one.
