Once upon a time in a warren far far away........
BEATRIX POTTER COLLECTION
In 2016 the Royal Mint relesed a Beatrix potter collection of 50p coins, the first coin had a portrait with a small Peter Rabbit to commemorate the authors life 1866 - 1943.
Then this coin was released as the first character in the collection, A portrait of Peter Rabbit looking very smart in his blue jacket. With a maximum coin mintage of 16,000 and a weight of 8g of .925 silver this little coin has become a very valuable and highly prized little sod. The coin sits in a stunning plastic display case with a magnetic lid and an individually numbered certificate and a booklet giving brief details about the life of Beatrix Potter.
The acrylic display case shows the coin off magnificently and the coin is in a second protective capsule that sits inside the case. For some reason this original case is ever so slightly deeper than all the other releases in the series. I currently have 3 of the Beatrix Potter coins, i was going to show them all in a single post but in a dastardly callous way to fill steemit more of my posts i will highlight the coins individually so there.
But im very proud to have this coin in my collection, it originally cost £55 from the Royal Mint but i dont even want to check what they are seling for now, my guess is their weight in gold and the temptation to sell it for gold is a ponder worth ponding about that i dont want to ponder about incase such a ponder results in this coin being pondered from my grasp :)
Those would make excellent gifts to your non-stacking friends and relatives.
You would be gutted if you had bought one for a non-stacking friend or relative as this 8g of silver is now selling for over £750, this is a serious collectors piece.
nice
Nice!!!
This is an awesome way to get kids interested in physical silver.
It would and there will be a few very lucky children that have been given one of these but its become such a valuable coin that i doubt many kids would be allowed anywhere near it lol.
Cool coin
