# 202 - The 2004 Canadian Proof Set

This is the 2004 Proof Set of Canadian Coinage from the Royal Canadian Mint.

We will find all the circulating coins (with different compositions) and a $1 Commemorative - 400th Anniversary of the First French Settlement in North America.

First of all I am sorry for my shadow on the photos...

In June 1604, Pierre du Gua and Samuel de Champlain were exploring the Atlantic Coast to select a site for a settlement. Sailing inland via Passamaquoddy Bay they discovered an island strategically located at the cross-shaped confluence of three rivers.

That was the first French settlement in North America.

The commemorative dollar weights 25.175g with 99.99% silver purity and Proof finish.

The $2.00, $.50, $.25, $.10 and $.05 have 92.5% silver purity and Proof finish.
