# 145 - America the Beautiful Quarters - Part 8

Continuing the State Quarters series, the US Mint started in 2010 a new series depicting a national park or national site, one from each state, the District of Columbia, and each territory. It is called "America the Beautiful".

They will be issued in the order of which that park or site was deemed a national site.

Each year five different coins representing five different parks or sites will be minted.

All the coins obverses show the same profile of George Washington and the reverses were usually chosen in popular contests in each state.

Here are three more coins issued in this series.

The first is the 2014 "Arches National Park" in Utah. It was deemed a National Park on April 12, 1929. The obverse depicts Delicate Arch with the La Sal Mountains in the distance.

The second is the 2014 "Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve" in Colorado. It was deemed a National Park on March 17, 1932. The obverse depicts a father and son playing on the banks of a creek, with sand dunes and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the background.

The third is the 2014 "Everglades National Park" in Florida. It was deemed a National Park on May 30, 1934. The obverse depicts an anhinga on a willow, and a roseate spoonbill wading in the water.
