# 142 - America the Beautiful Quarters - Part 7
Continuing the State Quarters series, the US Mint started in 2010 a new series depicting a national park or national site, one from each state, the District of Columbia, and each territory. It is called "America the Beautiful".
They will be issued in the order of which that park or site was deemed a national site.
Each year five different coins representing five different parks or sites will be minted.
All the coins obverses show the same profile of George Washington and the reverses were usually chosen in popular contests in each state.
Here are three more coins issued in this series.
The first is the 2013 "Fort McHenry National Monument" in Maryland. It was deemed a National Park on March 3, 1925. The obverse depicts Fort McHenry under bombardment.
The second is the 2013 "Mount Rushmore National Memorial" in South Dakota. It was deemed a National Park on March 3, 1925. The obverse depicts workers carving the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
The third is the 2014 "Great Smoky Mountains National Park" in Tennessee. It was deemed a National Park on May 22, 1926. The obverse depicts a log cabin in the forest with a hawk in flight.
