# 134 - Millennium Quarters - Part 3
To celebrate the new millennium, Canada created a two-year circulating/commemorative program. Each program released twelve quarters per year (one per month) and each featured a unique design.
The 1999 plan featured designs representative of Canada's past. The 2000 plan featured designs representative of Canada's dreams for a new millennium.
Each coin weights 5.83g with silver purity of 92.5% and Proof finish.
The first is the July 1999 "A Nation of People". The design features one continuous line depicting six people, representing law and order, learning, teaching, the arts, nature and sports.
The second is the August 1999 "The Pioneer Spirit". It celebrates the pioneers who came to Canada from other countries to enjoy prosperity and new beginnings.
The third is the September 1999 "Canada Through a Child's Eye". Three children holding hands representing a united nation.
