King Olav V 1978 silver coin
Most of the coins I have slabbed are either gold or American silver dollars, but this is something different.
King Olav V 75th birthday coin 1978 ,
This coin is made of 925 silver and weighs 27g but it does not have a normal finish like a pressed coin but appears more like a poured round and is very cool, never seen anything similar to compare. The design is pretty bland featuring king Olav facing left and the king spiral which I assume is a plant and the kings signature on the reverse, the coin was engraved by Øivind Hansen and has a mintage of 800k which is quite low, the face value of the coin is 50 Norwegian kroner ( £4.54, $6.28) the only reason I love this coin is the finish and I love it.
