My first clay pours!!!
Good day steemit
I tried silver pouring with Delft clay for the first time today.
So what did I make??
First up is a 1/4 ozt Canadian Armed Forces shoulder "pip"
A 1 ozt Rambo knife. Now this didn't pour like I was hoping, but it's cool anyway, I may need another 1/4 oz or so to get the blade to pour right.
It's all trial and error, but, I'll be stamping these, and try again with more shapes.
Thanks for reading!

It's coming along! I just need to figure out the amount of silver I need.

Very cool. I still haven't tried clay. Been doing all wood pours. Man does it take forever to make wood molds. Looking good @fat-elvis!
Get a router! Or a Dremel router with the little bits
I have a rotozip. The problem I have with doing it that way is, it always seems to catch the wood grain and shoot off to one side or the other. I probably need to be more patient. LOL
Patience is a virtue... I use my carving knives and rotary tool. But mostly my carving knives and chisels.

Do not cut yourself with that Rambo knife!
I'll try not.
I love them. Keep practicing and when you're next on holiday in tge UK you can bring me something. It's welshstacker by the way.
👍. Cheers buddy!
That's awesome @fat-elvis! Keep at it, you'll just get better the more you work at it. I'm wanting to try this myself now too... :)
Thanks. Give it a go, it's quite enjoyable so far!
You’ll get it bro. Always melt and pour more silver then you need.
Thanks man. Yeah, I'll try again tomorrow I think.
