Captain K to Hi-Brisil and Beyond Part 4! (@dixiesilverminer entry)

Well my pirate friends welcome back to the Silver Wing for the next installment of Captain K's thrilling tale!! After many dives and a ton of magic we were able to restore some of the scrolls and are still working on the others. Here is what we have been able to get back. As you recall Sir Bentley had just found the symbol of his friend and ally Key-Wee from Narnia!

As Sir Bentley pressed his paw against the carving it began to shimmer and shine with deep blue and purple light. Suddenly, as the men looked on another tree began to become illuminated and another. Corn turned to Sir Bentley and quipped “so that’s where the power button is.”

The men loaded up onto Tarakona and Slak-tor steered the mighty creature into the air. With a birds eye view the trail through the forest was quite clear. After flying for a few thousand miles the light trail stopped at a large cliff face abruptly. Slak-tor yelled back to the other men “we are going to set down on the cliff.” As Tarakona started to descend the dragon reached out its talons to grab the rocky cliff, but his claws dropped right through the massive rock wall.

Dropping down several hundred feet below he came to rest on a rocky outcropping. Situated in the center of the long flat rock was a small cabin with some smoke billowing out of the chimney. Dismounting from Tarakona Slak-tor told his friend to rest and the men set off to investigate this humble cabin. Captain K asked Slak-tor and Cornelius of Doggshire to hang back a few feet in case of trouble, while he, First Mate D, and Sir Bentley continued to the door. As the small band reach the door it immediately swung open and the Mage Key-Wee stood in front of the men. “Sir Bentley” she yelled as she smiled and wrapped her arms around the warrior hare; picking him up and swinging him. Laughing Sir Bentley exclaimed “Key-Wee, it’s great to see you too, but can you put me down?” Smiling she placed Sir Bentley back on his feet and yelled to the rest of the men to “come on in I have a meal for you all!”

Key-Wee greeted all the men by name as they entered and Cornelius of Doggshire asked if “she had any of those little brown fruits with the green middles he liked.” Laughing Key-Wee said “I am sure we can make some appear.”
Walking into the cottage the men found a large spread of foods from shrimp to fowl of every type. Captain K asked Sir Bentley, whom Key-Wee was and how she fit into the Skull of Destiny. Sir Bentley recounted his last encounter with Key-Wee and how she was from his homeland of Narnia. He noted how she was blessed by Aslan with the ability to see where the path a man walks may lead, but after reaching that point Sir Bentley said we shall have to ask Key-Wee. Turning to Key-Wee, Sir Bentley inquired “how she came to be here and what had occurred over the past ten years.” As the meal progress Key-Wee explained how she was always on this island as this is where the vortex opened by Merlin’s amulet lead Sir Bentley and her. Over the years, she and Merlin had explored the island learning that it was the resting place of one of the 4 relics that could lead to the Silver Skull of Destiny. They also learned that it was entombed in a cave guarded by the Fomorians. These were personifications of death, blight, drought, chaos, and darkness.

Hi-Brisil and its more advanced surface are governed by the Tuath De Danann a race of gods that represent many positive aspects of our nature and skills. The amazing abilities and protections of the island resulted from the advances they had made. First Mate D noted that with ten years to research the relic “Key-Wee must have some kind of plan.” Grinning Key-Wee said I thought you would never ask. Pulling out the Merlin’s amulet she cast a large map onto the wall showing the location of the relic.

“I can get us into the cave and out of the dome, however it’s the part in the middle where it gets a bit tricky.” Without hesitation Slak-tor blurted out “Key-Wee tricky is what we do best!”

Very Well Done Captain

Hmmm, these Fomorians don't exactly appear friendly and may be pretty tough despite their appearance. Then again things may not be as they appear. Not all creatures of darkness are malevolent as some will bargain if you have what they want.
