PF 70 Ultra Cameo Gold Eagle - 1988(P)
This is the first gold coin I’ve ever bought. It’s a 1/10 OZ proof gold eagle in perfect condition. I like gold coins because they can’t tone. Once they’re in a slab, they’ll be perfect forever! I’m planning on keeping this coin for many years.
One of the reasons I like to collect coins over bullion, is that when I have bullion, I sometimes have the urge to sell. Bullion never goes up in collectors value, it’s just worth it’s weight in metal. With coins, it’s worth its weight in metal, and there can be significant collectors value as well, which increases over time. The major trade off here is liquidity, as it’s much harder to find a buyer for a specific coin than it is to find a buyer of bullion.
