When the deadline for proposals has ended, four days after publication of the post, the one with the most votes from the community will be selected and the author chosen to complete the first part of the short story in between 500 and 1500 words. When the chosen author has completed their part of the story, another post will be released with this part included asking for proposals for the second part of the story, with the same process taking place and again for the third part.
When the final story is completed, the three authors will have the opportunity to propose a title, which will again be decided by voting from the community and also, proposals from artists within the community will be sought for the cover images, again being decided upon by the community by way of voting.
I thought this sounded like a really fun and interesting idea and so decided to enter my own proposal, which you can read for yourself below.
My Proposal for SteemShort #2 - Part One.
A middle aged man, family suffering poverty conditions, reaches breaking point one day after receiving more bad news in the mail from the government informing him that his family’s benefits had been cut again for an infringement of protocol which could not be avoided.
He decides to head for Westminister, to vent his anger at the politicians he feels are running his country into the ground.
Beginning his long journey, on foot, since he has no money, anger burning in his soul, he meets some younger men who, at first, take the piss out of him for his obvious anger but after some time and explanation by the main protagonist as to why he was so angry and why they should be too, he soon finds allies in them both.
One of them suggests they try to garner some more support for their cause as they decide to head for London together and take on the beast. When asked by the older how they would do this, one of the younger of the three suggests a little known but soon to be massive social media site, with many like minded members who might be willing to support such efforts.
'Steemit'.
If you'd like to see me turn this 200 word summary into a 1500 word beginning for an as yet undetermined three part short story, then please click here to visit the post and upvote my proposal summary to give me the best chance of being chosen.
Or why not have a read through some of the proposals from other potential authors of part one and see if there are any you like the sound of.
I read the second part :)
