STEEMPUNK-NET Update No. 25

Hi all and be welcome to the Weekly Newsletter Number 25!

Update of the SPN Server

We updated the SPN Server, not really out of our own will but because there was a small change on the steem side of things and this made our server more or less crash.
So we used this as an opportunity to update the whole SPN Server, this results in profiles loading much faster now and an overall increased stability and faster response.

Blueprints are now dropping as well

The Blueprints are a central piece of every house and house extension you can build within Steempunk-Net. Now they are also dropping as intended. Happy Hunting! We also reworked the item caching, which also adds some speed to the profile loading part.

Future developments

Currently, SPN resides on a Server that we are also using for other stuff. We want to change this as fast as possible to be able to make optimizations much more focused on the speed of SPN and not having overall stability of the whole software in mind.
We think that we will make this move quite soon to be able to react to growing numbers of players accordingly.

• Working on a merchant character class concept, introducing trade into the game This will be BIG!
• started to work heavily on a order system
• Still working on the crafting concept
• will start the Equipment slots task now as the next bigger thing

STEEMPUNK-NET Update No. 25

Hallo zusammen und Willkommen zum Update Nummer 25 von STEEMPUNK-NET!

Update des SPN Servers

Leider ist uns der Server von SPN um die Ohren geflogen, da es einen kleinen Change bei Steem gab. Wir konnten das schnell identifizieren und letztlich auch beheben und haben darüberhinaus die Gelegenheit genutzt den ganzen Server zu updaten. Die Profile laden jetzt deutlich schneller als vorher und wir haben generell eine erhöhte Stabilität.

Blueprints droppen!

Blueprints sind ein sehr zentrales Element beim Hausbau und auch bei der Erweiterung um einzelne Räume, leider sind diese bisher nicht wie vorgesehen gedroppt! Wir haben diesen Fehler jedoch ausgemerzt und wünschen euch viel Glück beim Finden! Darüber hinaus haben wir das Item Caching verbessert was zum schnelleren Laden der Profile ebenfalls beiträgt.

Zukünftige Änderungen

Immoment läuft Steempunk-Net nicht auf einem dedizierten Server, sondern teilt sich einen mit ein paar anderen Softwarelösungen. Wir wollen dies so schnell wie möglich ändern um letztlich zielgerichtet Optimierungen für Steempunk-Net machen zu können ohne die Gesamtstabilität der anderen Systeme noch im Hinterkopf haben zu müssen.
Wir erwarten uns eine deutliche Performancesteigerung durch diese Maßnahme.

An was arbeiten wir immoment noch?

• Wir planen gerade die neue Charakterklasse Händler, diese wird den Handel nach Steempunk-Net bringen Das wird groß!
• Start der Arbeit an einem Ordermodul
• Wir starten die Arbeit am Crafting Konzept!
• Als nächstes großes Thema werden wir die Ausrüstungsplätze wie z.B. Kopf und Hände einführen und das Spiel so deutlich fairer gestalten
