Real comments by real people would be awesome and are what I was led to expect when I joined Steemit. It is not as common as I expected it to be. And it is very random. My best posts get very little response and then I rush through one and I suddenly get many responses and upvotes.

There are two strategies I use to help me.

• @kryptonia helps me to drive engagement (and to earn SUP, a separate currency).
• Subscription services like @steembasicincome and @steemitbuilder guarantee me an upvote once a day for as long as I keep posting.

This helps me cope with the stress of not knowing whether anyone will even look at my blog. The random responses can then be added on top of that.
