Showcasing Steempress Publishers – Manual curation initiative

in #steempress5 years ago

Last week I started a #newsteem initiative.  Manual curation of Steempress publishers.  I decided on steempress publishers for manual curation because these users, with the steempress bidirectional comments, are promoting steem to content consumers each day. (And of course, because I am a steempress user myself)

If you are a steempress user and you want to be considered for curation in this initiative, you must have the steempress bidirectional comments turned on.  Feel free to drop a link in the comments to your latest Wordpress post.

Steempress Support Tuesday

I have also started a second initiative for steempress users.  It will basically be a weekly community support post, where steempress users can help each other out with a little support.  Do check out this weeks post we started with Comment support week.

Ready, Set, Curate 😊

So with all the formalities over, lets showcase these publishers. I hope that you will show them some support.  A meaningful comment on their blog is highly valuable and of course, a little upvote will also go a long way.  Remember people don’t need to come to steemit to find this content and by leaving a comment you can help show the world how awesome the steem community is.

@fionasfavourites has a wonderful blog.  Her most recent post, Still Dancing, is a beautiful story of friendship and …..shoes 😊.  It was a pleasure to read and I wanted to explore her site more after.

@blewitt is a familiar face around steem and has been using steempress for a long time.  What I loved about the post I am curating this week is how @blewitt is taking the bulls by the horn and promoting steem to the world.  I just really gotta get him to work on those pages name.

Hay @blewitt, get rid of the p=262 and add a title such as : Like writing dorky articles come get rewarded for it.

@leveuf is a Spanish author and he shared a wonderful piece of poetry with us this week.  The poem is accompanied with some original photography which really fits the mood of the post.

@smaeunabs revamped her home page last month.  She runs an amazing resource that is followed by many and there are some very informative articles on her site.  At the moment, the content shared to steem is a trading journal, but with so much more to offer, I do hope @smaeunabs will start sharing more content on steem via steempress

That's it for my manual steempress curation this week.  Do check back again next week.  In the meantime, if you are setting up a wordpress blog to post to steem, please do use my referral link

I have not tried Steempress so far, but maybe I will try it in the future. What do you think, what makes Steempress better than Steemit? Do they upvote blog posts, as/like Busy or eSteem do? I think that it is good for Steem blockchain projects and dApps to have an encouragement program, like eSteem has.

@xplosive

I am not speaking for @paulag, but rather from my own experience as a long-ish time WordPress user. SteemPress allows me to share my content with a wider audience - not just my Steemit followers. I went through a patch where I neglected my WP followers - to my own detriment. That, and I'm a markdown dunce so finding an interface from which I could comfortably post to Steemit has been a serious win-win for me. Incidentally, the SteemPress interface predates the other tribe interfaces and, IMHO is probably the most user-friendly of them all. In addition the team behind the @steempress plugin, @fredrikaa and @howo have a lot in the pipeline for this dapp. Do check out the SteemPress website https://steempress.io/

Oh, and here's a post from @traciyork which explains how it works in terms of support and "cost" https://steemit.com/steemiversary/@traciyork/mytwoyearsteemiversarysteempressnews-bsdb294aan

Oh, and if you don't have a WordPress site, do check out the footer on all my posts about how you can get one with the help of Steemian @gmuxx

Hope this helps.

Went to @blewitt's blog. Trying to upvote on my mobile was difficult at best and possibly unsuccessful at worse. His rewards did not visibly increase after upvoting.

After the title it was disappointing to find another, predominately, 'come to STEEM and get paid to post' post. My nerdyness is not likely unique in that although my involvement in crypto goes back before 2012 (my registering on bitcointalk) the only crypto ever traded by me for fiat was one BTC caught in the spike of 2015;
when padding a sell book on an exchange. Needless to say my attraction to STEEM is the blockchain not financial rewards.

We don't need to replace facebook; nor should we try. We need good known content creators with a pitch that on STEEM you are censor free. Eyes will follow increasing ad revenue streams.

Then there are the dApps. There will be a generation of Steemians that won't even know they are using the STEEM blockchain once RC deligation is released in the next HF. The utilitarian STEEM token. My prediction is that new dApps will surpass the social media aspect of STEEM in usage, yet this unique means to connect this crypto community will still be here. Not to replace Facebook or onboard the world but to connect the lifeforce of this project... its Nerds.

Many good Steemians seem to be selling the wrong message to the wrong people. More people golddigging for rewards will not help STEEM. It is quite the opposite by my way of thinking. We don't need those seeking to gain STEEM so they can dump it for fiat. We need to foster that Nerd Network which @blewitt alluded to in his title and shape dApps which exploit the fastest and cheapest blockchain transactions without users even knowing that they're using it.

Yes steempress needs Improvement when working on the mobile.

As far a the message in the post goes, I dont see it selling steem as a get rich platform. Nor is he saying we are a replacement platform to the likes of FB, but instead it can be added to the mix of platforms to post on. Personally I think it give a reasonable explanation of how steem works in a way a non crypto person can understand.

On saying that...steemit has been pleagued with problems caused by the come earn money message so I do understand your concern and I take this on board for future curation

You are a really awesome @PaulaG!! Thanks for featuring my work!! You are giving form to a great project that was much needed to conform a SteemPress community here in Steem. I know these initiatives of yours will bring much more ideas to get on board new users to the blockchain and to find the true potential of the plugin connecting creators and creating value.
I've been searching for users of SteemPress, (I have some friends using it), but I've been seeing that not too much are using the 2-way comments in the WordPress blog. I'll try to create some awareness of the benefits of that option, maybe with a comment in my posts, maybe even a post.
All the Best for every project, @PaulaG, may your days are full of joy!!

thank you for your kind words. Yep the community is steempress is not really that active but I do hope to help change that. I am open to suggestions and to help :-)

Day by day your efforts will see fruits, I'm sure!!
I'll visit your Tuesday's curation initiative soon!! :)
Have an excellent day, @PaulaG!!
