@fr3eze great write up. I would like to add however before they install it in the same directory they:
have a backup of the wallet.dat or they will loose ALL their smarts.
It's a given but if a guide leaves it out this important precaution someone may think the system is now clever enough to retain the wallet like some desktop application can.
Ah, almost forget to update this important step. Although I didn't perform this step in this particular upgrade but it is a recommended move.
