A Student's Diary #2 | Fitness Story - Crazy Body Changes!
I've been very busy for 2 weeks and it was the very reason why I wasn't able to post a blog. I am currently in my Grade 11 which is 1st-year college when K-12 wasn't implemented yet. Grade 11 was way complicated than everyone think. There are many works to be done. It broke my schedule, I couldn't simultaneously make a blog and get my assignments done.
I was very frustrated. I couldn't think about what to blog. It took me days to realize the thing. You see, majority of my homeworks were about making some articles and blog-like. Why would I think about what to post when I could just blog my homeworks.
Its been a long time since I last wrote blogs about my life as a student. The latest blog was the Budget Challenge. Today I will share my fitness story of course, a student related article. I will share the flow of my body as it changes year by year.
Reminiscing the very past, I was a very thin boy. Everyone thought of me as a skeleton. I wasn't that hurt but I was affected by bullies, it ruined my self-confidence.
I ate exactly as how other children does. I even took probably a lot of vitamins but it didn't work. I was very choosy, once I hate the taste, I really mean it. So yeah, I've been a skeleton for 8 years that includes my early elementary days.
Not until my older sister bought a branded milk from Dubai, U.A.E. Guess what? It's Nido. I started to drink the milk and yes, I gain this great form. I became a fat shaped, short student. I was in my Grade 5 that time. I didn't mind about my body appearance nor my height. Everything seems to be alright. I was contented with what my physical appearance was.
Once again, I started feeling conscious when I stepped into high school. Bullies and comparisons drove my mind crazily. I started planning to eat less and reduce eating unhealthy foods. It was easy because, before all of it, I used not to finish my lunch meal. I only eat a lot when I attend some parties or when I'm craving for some food. Days passed, I still don't feel myself losing some weight.
I started doing some activities to exercise my body. Our P.E class helped me very well. We played some Filipino games such as Patintero and Luksong Tinik. I hardly can jump and run because of my body weight. We also had our basketball session where we learn how to dribble and shoot.
In my Grade 8, I lose - at least - a small amount of weight. No more activities, but I still have the common exercise which is walking. The best part was we have a lot of books to bring every day. Every day, I need to walk for 5-10 minutes to get home. Every morning I also tried doing some short exercises like curl-ups and weighing. Everyone was shocked to see me growing taller and taller.
By Grade 9, I started to dance hip-hop and learn to do tumblings. I practiced and practiced until I get the right moves. I lose a lot of weight and earnt a lot of height. I was shocked, everyone was. I became the tallest member of my family and the 2nd tallest grade 9 in our section.
In my Grade 10, I did very long hikes and massive hip-hop. How about my diet? Well, I gain a lot of appetites, I always get hungry though. But I didn't have the guts to buy my own snacks because I have my Budget Challenge along with me. However, I have some friends who always treat me with simple yet delicious food trips.
Recently, I did a very long trek to Sirao Peak, Lataban Hills, and Dalaguete Mountains to Osmeña Peak. Trekking was just both my passion and my best exercise. Trekking improves my physical health immensely and gives my whole body a workout, improving my strength, agility, and cardio fitness.
As of today, I gain more height and lose more weight. It was very hard to understand the science of my body changes. I, myself couldn't explain it at all. Was it just my puberty which affected my body changes? or was it just my self who doesn't have the knowledge and right discipline of being fit? Anyways I still hike at least 30 minutes a day, eat a lot of nutritious foods, and wonder when I could get back the chubby @carlitojoshua used to be.
