@adamkokesh Delivers Support For Steemians - His Self Voting Is Down To 7.5%! Plus The Current Top 10 Self Upvoters | Steem Ocean.com

in #steemocean6 years ago (edited)

Congratulations and appreciation to @adamkokesh for sticking to his plan to redirect his votes and his 0.5 Million delegated Steem towards the Steem community..

steem ocean

Steem Ocean shows that Adam is no longer anywhere near the top 10 self voters and actually has a very good level of self voting. The average level of self voting across Steem is currently 4.84%, so Adam is only just above that.

His figure is lower than my own and I commend him for his diligent action and intent to support others. It actually takes a fair bit of time to go and vote for posts manually, especially if you have a lot of Steem Power - so kudos to Adam and maybe he will make some nice curation rewards in the process. :)

Current Top 10 Self Upvoters

As you can see, the top spot for upvoting continues to be @haejin, who has sat at that position for weeks. He also has the highest reputation of any account as a result. If anything this highlights the need to make urgent changes to the way that reputation is calculated and used. I suggest:

  1. Preventing self upvotes from effecting reputation since you can't have a reputation that you create about yourself!
  2. Allowing downvotes from users with a lower reputation to reduce the reputation of those above them - currently those with higher reputation can trash the reputation of those below them without concern of any comebacks.
Self-Vote Value (SBD)
haejin$2820.1
trafalgar$1424.51
dimimp$723.399
czechglobalhosts$709.015
khaleelkazi$560.035
adsactly$420.359
kusadasi$417.628
me-tarzan$318.312
madpuppy$256.535
javybar$251.073

Note: It was brought to my attention by @sircork that some votes were not being displayed correctly in Steem Ocean. Having explored the issue I found that SteemSQL, the database I use for Steem Ocean, had some issues that @arcange is now fixing. So future indexing may well produce some changes in the vote rankings.. Stay tuned!

Wishing you well,

This is nice for other is guess sir @ura-soul.
But I think self voting is good sometimes, because you also need votes on your post and if your voting power is left and you have a good steem power I would say that we should upvote ourself.
But the steem power you have can get a lot of new steemians working on steemit and following you so that is also one aspect.
Thanks a lot for sharing this post with all of us.

I am not against self voting, I do it too. I just think/feel that if everyone is voting for themselves more than for others, then the whole design of Steem falls apart - instead of 'proof of brain' we are left with 'proof of wallet'. My thinking is that if we actually vote up the content we like, then the world will consider the platform to be a great service to humanity and will want to invest - which should make our steem worth more - so we can all benefit anyway.

You are very correct and understand your point that we should upvote us with little power and give more to those with quality content and hard work.
I appreciate your thinking sir and I support you in this.

As a newcomer I'm surprised your 2 suggestions weren't employed from the start. This seems inevitable.

There are a range of changes that seem obvious and that need to be made that have not yet seen the light of day.. The changes here are surprisingly slow.

I like the transparency and the idea of a free and organic development without unnecessary interference. My first impression after less than 2 weeks on here is surprise at the power disparity between those at the top and bottom that has developed over such a short time. It's a fascinating anthropological process unfolding very rapidly. I'm enjoying the ride so far and learning much from many interesting people.

Oh, look, I wonder how much I self vote.

Bloop, I'm at 4.84%. I suppose that's good! :) I was worrying because I self upvote every post I make and I post everyday. :O But it seems I upvote other stuff much more often.

I think that there should be a rating of all the votes summed up per user (per number of rewards and per number of votes), so that we can check the highest rewarded person by another person (I'd probably be first in my rating, second only to my autovotes)

edit: Another proposal that I would make would be a tag rating of top tags voted on. :) That would be super cool. It was suggested to me by another user and I agreed with him that it would be awesome.

There's no need to worry about it, I don't think anyone is too bothered about most users upvoting themselves.. The problem for many is when people are drawing out many thousands of dollars every week as a result of self upvotes only (while many good posts get nothing).

I'm not sure if I understand your idea about ratings - the vote rank table at steem ocean sounds like it does something like what you are describing.

For example

Top receivers:

usern° of upvotes madetotal rewards received
crypto71$1500
sharon3$523
bloop1$0.03

Top tags voted for:

tagn° of upvotes madetotal rewards received
art71$1500
steemit3$523
very-unknown-niche1$0.03

Ah, I see, yes. I will add that kind of thing at some point - but they are available on other sites already (the tag list is actually available on steemit.com already).. I have just been focusing on the data that isn't available anywhere else to begin with.

The tag list with amount and percentage of votes per user?? On Steemit? Could you point me in the right direction? I haven't seen that anywhere.

This list is more or less the same:

https://steemit.com/tags

Ah, but the rewards are not divided by a user's votes.

For example, you have a "favourite tag", but it's only one tag. It could instead be a list of tags and have more information about their support for the tags.

oh, i see, ok - yes, i'll add that to the list of future upgrades :)

I have now added this feature to the 'examine a voter' page - let me know what you think. :)

Well said and thank you for bringing this to peoples' attention. Adam Kokesh helped me enormously getting started on Steemit with his upvote, making good on his promise at Anarchapulco. Much respect and gratitude to him

Thanks for your suggeson , you are always different news show , good job .

Your post is always different i follow your blog everytime , your post is so helpful . I always inspire of your post on my steem work . Thank you for sharing @ura-soul

Follow my blog @powerupme

This is pleasant for other is figure sir @ura-soul.

However, I think self voting is great now and then, since you additionally require votes on your post and if your voting power is left and you have a decent steem control I would state that we ought to upvote ourself.

Be that as it may, the steem control you have can get a considerable measure of new steemians taking a shot at steemit and tailing you so that is additionally one perspective.
This post @resteemit sir

Yes, I am not against self voting - but balance is needed.

This is good progress, now we just need a way to get haejin to stop selfupvoting himself so much...

Is It Possible ??

Its a great job no doubt about this.
