First Steem Monsters Product Update!!! Steem Monsters Alpha 1.1! Card combination and pack gifting.
So, there's some good news to share with people on the blockchain regarding Steem Monsters. We've just pushed our first ever product change. Steem Monsters alpha is officially version 1.1!!!
What did we change?
Two big changes happened here. The first change is that you can now gift packs to other players (or yourself on alt accounts).
The second big change is that you can now combine cards and see how that will make them level up!
What's it look like?
Next updates
We'll be looking to put some live stats into the game and get some basic fighting rules up on the page so that folks can antipicate how the tournaments, dailies, and clan activities are being designed to work. It's alpha so we will likely see changes happen between now and launch, but we want the players and the audience to see what that may look like!
Once we have some stats and rules available for folks next up we'll work on getting trading going. Should be fun to see some level 7 Rocs flying around before the tournament season even officially begins!

it's been just slightly over a week and already we've sold $7000 worth of Steem Monsters. You guys are awesome! And for that awesomeness we'll continue to deliver the best blockchain collectible trading card based tactical RPG out there.

I bought like 17 packs last night, but I'll reward the team another purchasing another 5 for the fast update, and such straight forward communication.
So I've become fairly interested in this project but I have a major concern.
While it's true that you've got the cards, and you've got the people that are interested....... what I'm not seeing yet is a functional gaming platform.
If you're planning to do the tournaments using a system somewhat like Hearthstone or Magic, then surely an actual gaming platform will have to be developed? Isn't that going to take a lot of time and money hiring developers that are actually experienced in that area?
I'm very interested in this game but I'm also interested in seeing how the platform that allows you to actually play the game is going to work.

I love the combining feature! But I see no benefit in using it until the game rules are fully established and the trading market is open. Thanks for the updates!
Good point. Right now we have no idea how the levels will affect the value of the card, or how it's played. It seems like you will get XP for using the card in tournaments as well, so it might be smart to wait a bit to level it up for "free" instead of combining them all the way to the max level.
True, but with that tactic you won't be able to get ahead in starter tournaments and probably XP gained will be the same on every card level. We need more details for sure before making some tactical plays, I like it :)
Yes, there's not much to do besides speculate at this point. However, it seems like they will lie out some core information about the game soon, so then we can really begin to analyze the best way to do it ;)
I'm really excited to play this game! I'm saving up my SBD earnings to get a starter pack now. Oh the trials of being a low earning plankton lol! ;)
