I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!
I like to see when other players burn their cards but for me I wouldn't burn them, because like you said we never know what they might be worth in the future.
We are already halfway thru to the total supply of Reward cards (around 40 - 50% already has been distributed). We will see the Dark Energy Chrystal coming up next Month with the feature to melt cards into DEC currency.
So, I probably wait for that feature to make a decision about the bunch of reward cards, because right now they are the most cheapest cards that you will can turn into DEC.
And some of the reward cards are really great for gameplay! The Wood Nymph for example is a great card I would never sell her for 0.03 cents or the Mushroom Seer (rare card) also 0.03 cents lol.
Cheers, I wasn't aware of DEC! Sounds like it might be worth hodling after all! Oh, and both of those cards you mentioned are great, so I wouldn't burn them!
I haven’t played or logged into SM in so long that I can barely even understand your post! I guess I should take a look again and maybe sell some/all cards. I’ve never been much for online games.

Why don't you try to make at least your daily quest and earn some rewards?
Like he said you never know how much these cards will be worth in the future so why not hodl them?

LOL I don't even know what that means! I stopped playing so long ago, seems the game has completely changed since then. But alas, I'm more focused these days on being offline as much as possible, getting ready to move across country, then remaking my life centered on the needs of my nieces/nephews and their friends. The idea of selling my stake in the game wasn't really on my mind, but it may be what I really should do.

If you decide to sell some cards I would be interested in a couple of yours e.g. Gold Foil Elven Cutthroat and Magi Sphinx...

This is a bit of a similar dilemma to stuff/no stuff. Stuff that might be useful in the future, generate money 💰 on ebay etc but meanwhile is taking up room in your brain/desk/house. I think if you able to, burn the lot and move on. But then, I'm a bit cavalier about steem monsters :)
Well, it is interesting idea in general... and I agree that can help with inflation problem... And about mooning SM... If it goes to moon, I suppose that in that case would be more players, more gifts, more cards... So, we will get in the same position as now...
Only if moon happens suddenly, it make sense... If not.. it is the same...
