Steem Monsters reward changes///

As many of you might have noticed, Steem Monsters had another update after the last season ended. Every single update so far i loved and it brought a lot to the game. This update im a bit torn over...

I understand what the goal was, and they might achieve it, but there is going to be a side effect, imo, im not sure anyone wants.

As you guys have probably noticed, daily quests no longer give out beta packs but rather 1 single "reward card"..
I was of the opinion before that too many cards have been given out for free and that was hurting the market... That which hurts the market, hurts the beta card pack sales and the health of the game. That is multiplied many times in a bear market due to higher STEEM pack prices.
So this change was good from that perspective. Card prices will increase slowly once the cheap cards start leaving the market and the card value per pack will increase.
But..... slowly and over a longer period of time.

Ok, so thats not so bad for the health of the game.

But there is one thing that i dont think is good.

Doing drastic and immediate cuts in rewards.

We went from 1 BETA pack per day with 5 BETA pack cards to 1 REWARD card per day instantly.

Thats a big drop and as much as i may applaud the idea behind this change it reduced my motivation quite a bit to play the game daily. And i think it will show,, very soon, in the daily game stats that people are playing less.
Thats never good, imo.

I only see one way my motivation would increase over time and thats if and when market card prices start going up, making it a good investment to spend money on packs. But seeing that card prices in STEEM and SBD have gone through the roof i dont think that would be entirely enough to get me back in the seat playing as much as i did.

I dont know what the solution to this would be, but maybe doubling the daily card gain or alongside the 1 reward card something else is added. "Something else" as in introducing a new reward mechanic to the game. Im thinking, maybe a SM proto-SMT token that is awarded for daily quest completion. Just an idea.
