The Steem Monsters Market Value is Rising again, but why?

Yeah, it's be a while since we've seen an upward trend on the Steem Monsters Marketcap but it's finally happening. Woohoo!

And the bottom appears to have been around 2/21

But given the price of Steem is also rising maybe it's just a good time to BUY the Steem Monsters cards you've always wanted.

Which totally makes sense.

However, my only concern is why the people with so much already invested in the project are buying even more cards. Do they know something we don't?

A few days ago I took a screen snap of the Top 10

And then another a few days later.

BCX Value 100319.PNG

And I was surprised that the Top 2 users had increased their Steem Monsters value while the rest of the pack appears to have taken profits.

Maybe the Dark Energy Crystals are going to be bigger than we think.

Or maybe they just invested wisely and own more of the cards that are going up in value. (For instance, the average price of Alpha Flesh Golems has risen 300% in the last few days since @mattclarke scooped up a considerable number for his collection. Although I expect the average price to fall again overtime)

Anyway, only time will tell, but I'll be sure to keep my eye on this, because I too are invested in the Steem Monsters game and market value.

Sort:

I dont think the price of Aloha flehsies is going to drop anytime soon. :)

There's been a marked increase in the value of the new legendary summoners which is definitely a contributing factor.

PS: For @mattclarke strategy to be successful, he needs to go all in on the Beta ones too. As I've mentioned before people aren't really buying Alpha cards. But if you cornered both markets it's game over.
And so far the Alpha tournament prizes haven't justified holding them. Sure they are unique but in regular game play you just want to find the cheapest way to max your cards.

I don't want to price Flesh Golems out of reach of the regular player, though. I want to play a fun economics game; develop my personal brand a little, get mentioned in a few pack opening livestreams etc, I don't want to be the most hated guy in the game.
Ultimately its the collectors I want to target. They don't mind if a card is expensive, as long as they're confident it'll hold its value. They're going to prize Alpha over Beta.
Alpha for the collectors, Beta for the players.

Corner the market! Be the most hated golem owner out there. :)

lol. I bought mine for around 15 cents not that long ago. Although , I need them, I'm happy to sell at a profit :-P

Yeah those legendary summoners, almost makes me want to start opening boosters again :-D

$40k in cards? That’s fucking insane.

Yeah, let's hope the people at the top never fall out of love with the game :-P
