Season 4 is about to lift-off - Hold on to your seats
Yeah Baby! Season 4 of Steem Monsters is about to take off and we finally have a few new cards to play with, which isn't going to make this game any easier.
But the catch 22 is you have to play the game to get the new cards as rewards.
Of course, you could try buying them on the marketplace but I expect the prices to be higher than the neutrals when they first landed during the Beta release.
Yes, it's a great time to farm cards and flip them on marketplace. Especially in this first season.
Ironically, they introduced new rewards to deter miners, but with a high value comes more incentive to farm them.
Although, it's hardly worth your effort farming at bronze level with a single card reward, as you'd be better upgrading your decks to Silver Standard and farm 5 cards a day.
And yes, that'll be pretty easy too.
So I'm expecting nothing to change on the farming front (they'll just move up a tier). Whereas the NOOBS are going to get a rude shock when they enter the game and step outside of the Novice League.
More cards to buy and less rewards.
Sadly, it's becoming more pay to play with every iteration. But I'm not complaining because I'm one of the lucky ones who got in early.
I'm just worried that the vision for a broad appealing game to kids and the like is slowing changing to become one for the high rollers.

I'll hold my final judgement until I see how the new changes play out when in effect, but my gut feeling is that this is a case of the noisy wheel getting the grease.
While I like the idea of having exclusive cards that are only available via playing, making it harder for new players to level up their decks (albeit slowly) without having funds to invest seems counterproductive to expansion of the game.
Yeah, I'm not feeling good abut this move at all. Those with maxed decks should have access to 100-150 cards for season rewards every few weeks and when the selection is only from a possible 10 you can imagine they'll level up pretty quickly. Thus creating a bigger divide.
Let's see how it plays out.
I like the idea of adding cards that are only available with play. It helps with not diluting the value of those who invested in boosters. Lets see how it all plays out. The game is ever evolving and I welcome this new step.
I agree that these new changes aren't really beneficial for new players or players who can't afford to buy their way up. I don't think this is the way to go if you want to attract lot of new players. We'll have to see how it turns out, but I'm afraid they will lose players instead of gaining them....
I can appreciate the misgivings; but have you seen the chart showing pack sales?
It's really dropped.
Perfect storm of rock bottom steem price and free daily packs scratching that itch.
Those who aren't playing but are just sitting on cards are going to look for the new won-only cards on the market, so those who win them can sell them and buy loose cards off the market.
I'm a fan. I like it.
Whereas, NOOBS will get a rough shock when they enter the game and go beyond the beginner league. - It will be fun:)
