Steem Monsters Daily Quest and ICC Cricket World Cup Updates - 22/June

How's your Sunday going on?
You must be taking rest from that hectic weekday schedule, aren't you?

Well, here I am with my updates from Steem Monsters Daily Quest I completed yesterday and also updates from one of the most thrilling ICC Cricket World Cup matches, the match between one of the title favorites India and the other team known for upsetting higher rated teams, Afghanistan.

Here is the list of cards I got from daily quest of Steem Monsters.
I have to say, one of the best set of cards I got.

I say it one of the best not because it has Legendary or Epic cards, but because it has 5 Rare cards although the cards are not much of high profile ones.

As you can see, a Rare NAGA FIRE WIZARD, couple of CRYSTAL WEREWOLF, a Rare HOBGOBLIN, a Rare SKELETON WARRIOR and to top it all, a gold HIGHLAND ARCHER and a SEA MONSTER completes that card list.

I am still hanging at Gold II league and still about 8 more days to go for this season and I am hoping of making it to Diamond II this time from last season's Diamond III finish.

Cricket, they call it as as a game known for excitement, upsets and unexpected results.

This ICC Cricket World Cup isn't out of that.

We had high profile matches like the one England had against it's opponents, the thrilling matches like the one New Zealand had against West Indies yesterday along with the other match India had against Afghanistan same again yesterday.

We even had upset match where Bangladesh beat West Indies by chasing a score of 300+, although we can't 100% say it's an upset as Bangladesh is winning more such matches since quite some time now.

India vs Afghanistan:

Talking about yesterday's matches, it's India who were favorites to win against lesser rated Afghanistan in the first match.

But, the match wasn't that one sided as expected as Afghanistan's spin trio of Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Rahmat Shah posed more threats to the beleaguered Indian batting line up and didn't make it easy for them to score runs. The result, India could score 224 only from 50 overs.

The starting of Afghanistan chase wasn't good either as they lost one of their opened when score was just 20.

But, Afghanistan made a recovery thru captain Gulbadin Naib and Rahmat Shah but the scoring rate was way lesser than required rate since Indian bowlers were not giving any freebies.

Scoring picked some momentum when Mohammad Nabi came to bat in 29^th over.

But, some quickfire wickets in the end including a hat-trick from Mohammad Shami and controlled bowling from Jaspri Bumrah as usual helped India restrict Afghanistan to 213 handling India a 11 run win.

For the first time in this tournament, India's batting was tested by opponents, but their own bowling unit was able to defend the low total.

out of all these, India's unbeaten record in this tournament is intact.

New Zealand vs West Indies:

The other unbeaten team in this tournament, New Zealand continued to be unbeaten although that record was under threat as a spirited West Indies fell short by 5 runs while chasing New Zealand's target of 292 runs.

Highlight of New Zealand's batting was both their openers getting out to the first ball they faced and a century by skipper Kane Richardson and half century by Ross Taylor.

West Indies chase included scores of 87 by Chris Gayle and a century by Carlos Brathwaite and half century by Shimron Hetmyer.

With those wins, India and New Zealand continue to be in top 3 with New Zealand first, Australia second, India third and England in fourth position and these 4 are favorites to make it to semi final.
