Steem Monsters: The Twisted Jester Offers Some Offbeat Stats

A 4-damage sniper for 4-mana, count me in! Twisted Jester is a fun card to use, but like all snipers tends to be a difficult format to use competitively and on a regular basis.

The real problem lies in the fact that snipers tend to all be ranged attackers. Compounding this is the fact that one typically needs to double upon on their sniping ability in order to be effective on a competitive level. And finishing this off is that having more than 1 ranged attacker on a team (barring a very high mana cap), tends to result in a team that is ill-prepared to hold down the fort once the front gate (defender) is knocked down.

More often than not, the Twisted Jester is best placed in the rear. Yet with only 6 health, it's not exactly the best rear guard. Although it does advantageously have Evade which helps in the defense of the rear, a mere 6-health is often vulnerable to dual sneak attacker teams. The relatively average speed of 4-speed at max level is far from effective from a defensive standpoint as well.

Nevertheless, on higher mana cap limits, Twisted Jester can often be the cruel knife to gut the enemy's underbelly. When dualed up with another sniper like the Centaur, the duo can often be quite destructive to the weak vitals of the opposing force.
