Steem Monsters - My First Draw!

in #steemmonsters6 years ago (edited)

Shortly after Steem Monsters battles started in October, I heard this was possible, but it had never happened to me. That is, until a few days ago!

I was trying to complete the daily quest. I just wanted to get the battles over with, and pressed the button to skip to results. Much to my surprise, the battle ended in a draw!

This definitely piqued my curiosity, and I couldn't help but analyze the battle closely to see how that had been possible.

The rules for that particular match stated that only melee attackers could be used. What a long and gruesome battle it was (even for the cards :P )! It lasted 24 rounds, thanks to both our Haunted Spirits taking minimal damage and always healing back to full health without anyone being able to win. Starting on round 21, all the Monsters began getting fatigued and losing Health each turn. First, all of them lost 1 Health. On the next turn they lost 2, on the next turn 3, and lastly 4... and the battle ended with both Haunted Spirits dying of fatigue!

This was an interesting battle. I didn't even know that fatigue was a thing. I've summarized it all, but if you're curious to watch the gruesome battle for yourself, here's the link of the replay.
