Rewards Are RewardssteemCreated with Sketch.

Today is the day we get the long anticipated hard fork.

Hard Fork 21 will go live in a few hours which will change a great deal about how Steem operates. Truthfully, none of us know how this is going to turn out. In fact, we will have to give it 90-120 days before we can determine the success or failure of the changes.

That said, it does appear that smaller accounts will be making less from the reward pool. This is not a certainty with multiple changes occurring at once, there is a solid change the payouts are altered across the board, leaving smaller accounts with a similar share as before.

Regardless of what takes place, the emergence of Tirbes via Steem-Engine is helping to mitigate this.

Essentially, it is crucial to remember that rewards are rewards.

For those who understand United States currency, does it matter if you receive payment in 10s instead of 20s? Would you care if someone handed you a stack of 5s instead of 50s?

Certainly, being paid $10K in singles is a pain in the neck, but who would turn it down?

The same holds true on Steem. While SP out of the reward pool might be harder to come by immersing oneself in different communities can help offset this. So while the desire is to get 20 dollar bills directly, one might have to get lots of singles then convert them.

For example, if one is active on Palnet, payouts will come in the form of PAL. If desired, those can be converted to STEEMP, moved into the Steem wallet, and powered up. Get 5 PAL and you roughly have 1 SP. Along the same lines, earn yourself some payout in LEO, and when you have 10, there is another STEEM.

The point is we still have a way to keep the accounts growing in terms of SP, if we are willing to utilize them. It might be more of a hassle than before, but the possibility does exist. Of course, this is presuming that the changes do affect smaller accounts negatively. If that is not the case, then one is even further ahead of the game by focusing on things in this manner.

Another important factor with the Tribes is the ease of finding a Whale or Orca. These are not the same ones who are Whales and Orcas on Steem. Many of them, in fact, could have rather small Steem accounts yet are holding a lot of a SE token. In other words, they understand and are more likely to give an upvote to someone who is trying.

In the end, if one is truly interested in growing his or her Steem account, it matters none how that end is achieved. There are ways even if the direct path is hindered a bit. This is where the expansion of Steem is really starting to present option.

Again, getting paid in 5s or 20s, it is all the same in the end.

We have no idea what is going to unfold in terms of activity. Who knows, perhaps this hard fork will push people outward into the applications more, causing greater activity on the secondary layer. This focus might help to decentralize things to a greater degree.

Hopefully, the fork goes smoothly from a technical end and we have few bugs with the upgrade. After that, we can all start to assimilate to the "new Steem".

Enjoy the ride, it is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

I have no doubt that small accounts will be affected very negatively.
This hardfork basically says:
"Let's get investors on board FIRST, then escalade things to mass adoption later."
I understand this reasoning, but if it was the right decision is to be seen in a few months.

Clever investor will never invest in dead horse in racing unless he knows something very special. )

Rewards Are Rewards? ... that is usually what megacorporations tell to poor people to make them feel better.

Seems your example is not correct. It looks not like 10s or 20s but like dollars and, for example, forints. Do You agree to receive equal sum in forints insted of dollars? The answer is obvious.

that is what i was thinking to. and if someone thinks it is the same he could ask someone who got loan in franks but gets paid in dinars...

Posted using Partiko Android

Organizations do that all the time.

I can give you a loan in franks and you might pay me back in Dinars....of course, it might take a million dinar per frank but if I can exchange it, the net is the same.

Nothing says I have to hold the dinars.

thing that happened is they got house loans (not sure is that is the name) in franks so they had to pay the loan in franks, but the paycheck is in dinars. well frank to dinar in next few years got from 70din for 1 to 105 din for 1. problem is they earn in dinars but they pay the loan in franks

Currencies are exchanged all the time. The international marketplace if full of organizations taking payments in currencies other than their ideal currency. This is why they exchange them for what they desire.

Dont you think that most of the companies doing business in Europe are swapping out their Euros for USD considering how that currency is falling. Do they stop taking them as payment? Of course not.

Companies have to do it to attract more customers. I'm sure they will be glad to avoid it if possible. Anyway it's not the same as 10s and 20s.

Hi dear friend @taskmaster4450.

It is interesting that you consider this practical way of doing PowerUp. What do you think of powerup within the tribes, that is to increase the stake?

For a new user or for new accounts that are being created, it is necessary to have SP in order to have enough RC for a more or less pleasant experience, but the tribes are always recommending their users to increase the stake.

If we sell all the tokens obtained in the tribes to take them to STEEM, wouldn't we be affecting the tribes in any way?

All best, Piotr.

When you want to growth, you will adapt and find a way.

Very useful information - I think it will be fun today ;-)

Hopefully this provides more benefit to holding SP, and supports the price. Will be interesting to see how it all works out. All I know is those who stuck it out and stay consistent will benefit either way.

Not really the hardfork is like giving a $5 bill and now getting back $2.50.
