Delegating LEO to @spinvest-leo is now even more rewarding.
The program we have set up here for @spinvest's LEO tribe involvement has far exceeded my expectations. We now have over 35,000 LEO delegated to us, and sent out the first SPI mining rewards a few days ago.
About @spinvest-leo
If you haven't heard of this part of @spinvest before, basically we earn curation rewards in LEO tokens via LEO delegated to us. Those that delegate earn SPI tokens passively in return. The profits after purchasing the SPI are powered up to build our asset base for the long run. LEO tribe overall wins with a solid stake vote following the official curation trails of SteemLeo, content creators win from higher rewards for quality curated content, Delegators win by earning passive SPI tokens, SPI holders win from a growing owned stake adding to the SPI overall asset pool and exposure to the most dynamic and forward thinking tribe on Steem.
The other important thing to note is that you don't have to have any current involvement or investment in Spinvest to be involved. This week, we received our first delegation from outside the current list of SPI hodlers. It is possible to build a stake in a long term STEEM POWERED investment (SPI tokens) without ever having to purchase any.
Announcement 1:
SPI token mining payouts will now be issued weekly, instead of monthly. Thats right, every week you could earn SPI tokens without having to buy them, just by delegating some LEO tokens to @spinvest-leo.
Announcement 2:
The mining payout rate (previously 1 SPI per 500 LEO delegated per month) is being doubled, effective immediately. So, the new calculation is 1 SPI per 1000 LEO delegated PER WEEK!!! This means, you will earn twice as many SPI. Important to note that you don't have to delegate 1000 to qualify, any amount is appreciated. Token reward will be issued rounded to 2 decimal places.
These upgrades are possible thanks to the strong results we are getting, and the strength of the LEO tokens generally. To purchase these mining rewards, I will be selling approximately half the LEO tokens we earn. The other half (roughly) get powered up to grow our assets.
Please note, this calculation and mining rate is subject to change, notably if the price of LEO drops significantly.
I would like to thank all SPI holders for the support and encouragement to keep building this branch of the SPI tree, and also LEO delegators for entrusting me to manage your stake and reward your contribution to the growth of SPI.

For beginners to this sort of thing changing the parameters where you're giving an illustration is very confusing.
I thought this was a typo but since no-one had picked it up in the comments I realised I must be misunderstanding. And I was.
Immediately you said doubled I was expecting to see 2 SPI per 500 LEO. 1 SPI per 1000 looked like a decreased rather than an increase.
Eventually I realised that the timing was critical and my mind changed it to approximately 0.5 SPI per week which then makes double in a month.
For newbies to this sort of thing it's really important to make things ultra simple and only change one parameter at a time rather than the 2 you did here.
Also, maybe be more explicit about things that have changed. I had some notes about tiers and also a note for myself that as I didn't have 500 LEO I couldn't delegate.
I'm assuming that this is not longer the case due to this bit . . .

Thanks for the feedback. I had the same conversation in discord with someone else, so it definitely was a common confusion. Sometimes things are perfectly clear in my head, but I explain them in very confusing ways.

Excellent post and great updates. Things are really going well for this account and it's awesome to watch this branch of the SPI tree grow out and produce lots of fruits.
I wonder if i could introduce something similar for delegating SP in return for SPI's. I dont think the returns would be as good as your getting with LEO and im lazy to maintain it, lol
I reckon an SP dele program would be a toufh sell. So much competition for it, and curation would be tricky. The tribes are better options for now on my opinion.

I've only got under 100 Leo, I'm tiny potatoes.
You can still earn some SPI, though. It will build up over time :)
It's a great way to save.
I think I have about 15 SPI not enough as a voting share yet, I'll eventually pickup more.

Question for you: if I wanted to delegate LEO, but say, only had 150 tokens available for delegation, would I still be able to earn passive SPI?

Yup, definitely. Any amount will generate a return. And you can increase or decrease any time you like.
Ahh good to know. I was under the impression minimum of 500 LEO had to be delegated in order to redirect a return
