Steemit Iron Chef 2018 - Act 02 Round 14 - Salad in a bottle
So this is not a letter in a bottle, to be tossed in the sea and then get washed up on a beach in a faraway land, hopefully by a long lost lover!
No, this is a salad in a bottle made especially for the final round of Steemit Iron Chef 2018 - Act 02 Round 14 run by the very busy @progressivechef, who now finds himself on the faraway island of Mauritius - with miles of sunny palm-soaked beaches and hungry hotel patrons waiting to be fed!
I've made a power-packed and delicious Broccoli & Fusilli Salad in a screw top bottle - super easy to take along for a super lazy day at the beach.
What went into the bottle?
Tiny Broccoli & Cauliflower florets
Little cubes of Red Bell Pepper
Finely chopped Spring Onions
Fusilli Pasta cooked al dente
Cubed Cheddar Cheese
Crispy fried Bacon
Chopped Pecan Nuts
A creamy sweetish Dressing made with Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar, Egg yolk, Salt & Pepper, Brown Sugar, Sour Cream
The longer this salad marinades and rests in the bottle, the better it gets, as the veggies & pasta soak up the delicious dressing.
Salad ingredients are simply tossed together and placed into the bottles and you're off to the beach, nothing can get easier than that!

Hello friend, first of all as the patient friend of yours follows? I hope better. You leave me with my mouth open, it is a very elegant presentation even to place by lot in decorative jars as in the Christmas dinners and you gave me a new idea, the nutritious ingredients, and they replace any hunger moment since when incorporating the pasta it is a complete meal I love this friendly publication @lizelle

My friend's condition is up and down, still in isolation abd on life support, very worrying as her organs are taking a knock, kidneys not working much. She was losing blood internally but they found she had a bleeding ulcer (on top of the other issues) so they've fixed that, so at least the blood loss is sorted, but the doctor is still extremely concerned, not nice seeing her like that!
This looks delicious, and best of all it is easy to make and take. Yummy!

One of my favourites for dinner in the summer months @lizelle with a few new ideas from the way you have prepared your dish.
It has been fun following your recipes, photography and presentation of food.
I absolutely love this salad and make it all the time, especially during the summer. The only thing that I do not put in it are pecan nuts but I do add tomato :) It looks lovely honey and very colorful 💚
