My Steemit Story; So Far So Good. Steemit Ultimate Challenge 8 weeks - week #6

The steemit ultimate challenge is an 8 weeks challenge hosted by @dobartim, it is a contest meant to help tell your steemit story, the different ways steemit has changed or affected different aspects of your life positively.

My steemit story began sometime in August 2017. Steemit came at a very critical moment of my life. 2017 was kind of tough for my father financially and it also affected the family as a whole. I was the third child out of five and i was the only child in a tertiary institution at that moment so my fees always made the largest cut in the family budget. My sister was working then also, had a fair pay, so she also assisted in some aspects. Living in school then i had to also run a part time job and get some extra funds to support myself. Soon enough i got to know about steemit from @prechi, he did some advertisement for it on his whatsapp and after we talked about it i was desperate to join. After i registered, the money didn't come flying in, infact it was a steady $0.05 post after post. But determination did not let me quit, i was determined to keep struggling and as @dobartim would say, " i was determined to see myself at the top. Also i knew it was only a gain gain, i had nothing to loose, there was no investment and writing, especially poetry was fun to do for me so why think about quitting? Time passed and as any determined mind, i started to create some connections, i made new friends, friends whom i can claim would be lifetime friends. Life was just getting even more interesting than it ever seemed. I kept working harder both on and off steemit, The upvotes started coming too, it was a gain gain.

How Steemit Has Impacted Positively in my Life

Morally

There is just a lot of good things steemit has impacted, so far its been all good. I have learnt a lot of life lessons, met some inspirational people and most importantly, steemit gave me a responsibility. Before i was 85% of my responsibility, it was all about me but steemit changed my mind set, i understood the importance of keeping networks, helping the newbies became a responsibility, introducing people to steemit became a responsibility. Assisting others with the little knowledge i had became an obligation. I no longer lived a 'Me' life, i became more regular with the term 'us'. Well my hard work paid off, at least people benefited from my help and i was well appreciated. The group i had joined while growing on steemit, i was made an admin and up to date i have not relented on this. Now once i introduce you, i help you with your introductory post and assure you nothing less than $5 on the post even though i don't have that guaranteed upvotes on my post, a lot of newbies can attest to be beneficiaries from my assistance. But then only the hardworking ones survive the competition and keep steeming after their introductory post, i am happy to say that i have groomed a lot of survivors too. I also tried to help some undervalued poets on steemit with my poetic-surge contest, but this had to be paused due to lack of funds but the few weeks it ran, the beneficiaries must have gained a lot.

Educational Wise

If you are on steemit and you say you have not laerned a handful of educational stuffs then i think you need a break to meditate on your steemit life. I learn new things everyday from steemit, even when i write my posts, i research and learn new things, sometimes i even participate in contests i knew nothing about, but then because of the contest, i research on that topic and join. I recently made a bedside lamp and i did a post about it, before steemit my ordinary mind would not have thought about such innovation, but with the level steemit grooms ones mind on creativity, its just too awesome that sometimes i even think of making a plane, lol, but yes i do. Just two days ago i was listening to radio show that talks about different diseases and how best to avoid them, immediately steemit came to my mind and i wrote a post about cancer, i did an extensive research about it now i can say i am above averagely knowledged about cancer and its causes and treatments. This is just few in hundreds, learning new stuffs everyday on steemit is just as certain as the morning light. And things are just going to remain that way, i will keep filling up my brain with as much knowledge as possible.

Financially

Steemit is a platform that rewards quality content. I have had s fair share of the reward pool. The financial revolution came at its peak during the yuletide periods, when sbd hit its all time high, a appreciable amount of funds were generated from my posts, it was so awesome, i became 100% percent independent. My father would say " you are now a certified man". Haha, do boys get certified before becoming men? This financial impact was one life changing impact, and also i from the knowledge i got from so many crypto-currency posts i read i was able to start trading and also generate some more fund, although the trading aspect was not a gain gain like steemit, but some extra funds were gotten too. Even some extra funds came in from contests, the best contest won so far was that of @dobartims all star contest where i took 2nd place and won 30sbd, that was like $240 then, you can join the present contest here

Business Wise

Right now i do not have any offline business, my funds generation are 95% online. My crypto trading and some other stuffs i do, steemit inone way or the other contributed to it. One renowned tutor in my crypto world is @samstickzz, read his posts and gain as much knowledge about crypto trading.

Conclusion

I just want to give a big shout out to the organiser of this contest, giving me a medium to express my gratitude to steemit as a life changing platform and also as a family.
