Hardship And Ease (day 75)

in #steemitschoolpoetry6 years ago (edited)

Too much joy is so tiring,
just as too much sadness is.
Life should be neutral, or at least
it will always be like this.
Cherish your sorrow and your delight,
and don't forget to celebrate
the experiences you live.
For they have made you who you are,
and they will keep teaching you
that life is more than joy and comfort,
and that with hardship comes ease.

Your poem of the day brings the wisdom of calm. Everything in life has another face. Nothing is totally good or the opposite. We must insist on the search for internal balance as a tool so as not to go crazy before so many peaks that life gives us. Good work, poet!

I love the statement “That with hardship comes ease”. This is such an oxymoron but is so true. I like that you end with this statement.

I would encourage you to expand your vocablulary. This continues to be a struggle for me and I have to purposely edit my drafts to make sure I am not reusing favorite words and phrases to much. One site that has helped me a lot is Rhyme Zone. The synonym and definition tools are very helpful. You can do a google search for “word of the day” as well to learn new ways of saying things.

Also I think using a more active voice makes any form of writing stronger. So instead of using verbs of being or neutral words. So instead of saying “Too much joy is so tiring” you could say Too much joy tires.

Also for the sake of flow I would eliminat the word “is” at the end of the second line. It kind of gives a little rhythm with the word “this” but just seems awkward and out of place.

I was a little confused by the phrase “it will always be like this” Is that a reference to joy always being tiring if not neutral, or if you can’t reach neutrality at least look at life in the way that the following verses describe.

Anyway good job and great message.

the last line is inspired by a verse from the Qur'an that says:
"Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease." 94:6

Although I don't know why "will be" is written like that or why it's "will be", because the original Arabic version says nothing about the future tense, I don't know.

Thank you for all the tips and for taking the time to write this wonderful comment.

by "it will always be like this" I mean even if life shouldn't be neutral it will always be neutral anyway.

Thanks again and good luck with the rest of the challange :)

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.

And the reason why is because @therealwolf is disgusting slimy pedophile that enjoys abusing kids. Here's proof of him upvoting child porn on the steemit blockchain. bigbadwolf indeed.
