Deprogramming

The programming starts early,
Mickey Mouse
Barney
Snoopy.
It’s subtle but intricate.
It works on the subconscious mind.
You have to be strong to withstand it.
You have to fight back.
The programming is green,
Money
Grass
Oscar The Grouch.
It is intentional.
It works its way in deep.
It stays there dormant,
Then reawakens
When triggered.
The programming is visual
And auditory.
It seems innocuous,
But it has sharp teeth.
The programming is universal,
Historic
Creative
Demonic.
It thrives on killing innocence.
It bludgeons free will.
It celebrates dominion.
The programming can be subverted.
It must be talked about.
It must be exposed.
We must warn our young.
If it is acknowledged the deprogramming
Can begin.

This is a subject I talk about a lot — even my show (Nox Mente) dives into these waters. I agree that one must talk about these things, that we must not fear the strange backlash from looking at what is really going on. I love how you worked this into a poem — And I love poetry that braids in these rather touchy subjects as a means to possibly be more “palpable” for people to digest by shinning a light on the subject.
Even though this a truly dark subject, you leave the piece with a sentence, a thread, a life-line, of hope. To “acknowledge” something is a big step for some, it is something brought into view for examination, this allows one’s cognitive teeth to chew the fodder and determine a judgment, and you give steps to do so:
“The programming can be subverted.
It must be talked about.
It must be exposed.”
Very well rounded bit of writing on a dark subject. :)

Mickey is a given. 😎 But Snoopy has taken a big chunk of the kiddie lands in amusement parks and Oscar lives in a trashcan. :P
yes I hear you, some of us have lost our ability to think for ourselves thanks to the many years of T.V telling us what to do, inducing fear and doubt, It so is time for deprogramming
For sure. We just have to be vocal. It may be uncomfortable for everyone. Lord knows I chaff my loved ones with my flagrant pointing out of the mind control techniques, but the alternative is not something I can live with. I must fight this war on our minds. It's nice to know others care as well.
