Steemit Sandwich Contest Week#29 (Theme: Chinese Wrapper) - Forth Entry: Mexican Taquito topped with Sour Cream and Guacamole
Do you like taquito? I love them when I first discovered them years ago in Mexico City. On that trip, I was out and about trying different kinds of local food.
Taquito is basically rolled up tortillas that contain fillings like cheese, meat and then fried until crisp. They are served with different kinds of condiments on top.
Today, I decided to experiment making taquito by using my leftover Chinese Wrappers. In the end, I have discovered another great party dish to add to my recipe collection.
Here are the ingredients:
- Chinese Wrappers, Salami, Cheese, Olive Oil, Sour Cream, Tomato, Avocado, Lime, Garlic
Here are the simple steps:
- Place Salami, Cheese on wrappers, roll them up and fry until crisp with the cheese melted inside
- Prepare the Sour Cream and Guacamole toppings while the rolls are being fried
Seriously, this week's SSC exploration has opened up my eyes about dishes that would be great for entertaining. I feel like a recipe scientist or something, and I am glad that I get to document all the recipes via the SSC.
But, I will still be keeping my full-time day job and only taking a part time job as recipe scientist - I love all the perks from my regular job too much (lol).
Oh, and guess what, so far, I have made 91 sandwiches already. WoW - I really need to review all the sandwiches I had made as I find it hard to believe myself!!!
love it!
