Steemit Sandwich Contest - Week 27
Week #27 of the Steemit Sandwich Contest hosted by @jaybird has a special theme. It's called "Jaybird's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, Ugly Sandwich" theme. I usually try to make delicious sandwiches that will make your mouth water, so this theme might be difficult... but I gave it my best shot. This Chicken Bacon Mac sandwich is an absolute mess! A delicious mess that is. I wanted to take a selfie while eating it as @jaybird mentioned, but there was too much going on with this one.
Ingredients:
Cajun Grilled Chicken
Some of the most delicious Mac & Cheese in the World from Vermont Country Deli... no really, this stuff is the best. The Vermony Country Deli gets so busy, sometimes the town Fire Marshal needs to come and turn people away due to violating the occupancy code.
Bacon
Frizzled Onions
Hard Roll
Step 1: Grill the Chicken
I seasoned the chicken with Cajun spices and threw them on the grill. Feel free to use whatever chicken you'd like. Fried might be delicious!
Step 2: Slice the Chicken, Prep the Bacon
Slice the chicken into small pieces and fry up a couple slices of bacon.
Step 3: Toast a Roll
Toast up a hard roll and add a scoop of the sliced chicken breast.
Step 4: Add the Bacon
Add a couple slices of bacon to the top of the chicken.
Step 5: Add the Mac
This is where it gets good. Load up the sandwich with a heaping mound of the delicious mac and cheese. Vermont Country Deli uses fresh Vermont Cabot cheese. It's seriously some of the best mac and cheese on the planet.
Step 6: Add the Frizzles
Top it off with some crispy fried onion frizzles
Step 7: Serve & Enjoy
Put the top of the roll on and dive in. Remember to bring a fork and some extra napkins for all the mac and cheese that falls out!

Yess, when it comes to food, Vermont is an amazing place to be. Most towns have a country store that sells fresh local cheeses, meats, jams and all different gooodies.
Siiick fresh local is the way to go!
