Steemit Sandwich Contest Week #39 - Theme: Springtime Country Picnic Sandwich

Here is my entry for Steemit Springtime Theme Sandwich Contest #39 - kindly hosted @jaybird :) I so enjoy taking part in this creative contest and interacting with contestants, who have a passion for baking and cooking!

After you have finished assembling the sandwiches, you can wrap them individually in tin foil for freshness and to keep them snugly together.

Take some brown paper and roll each sandwich in it and finish off, by tying a thin piece of cotton cord around each one, for a rustic flair.

I lined the basket with a decorative tea towel and ecru cotton serviette, complete with some lavender on the side, for colour.

Ingredients--

This sandwich is made with -

Wholewheat seed bread
Smoked Chicken Viennas
Lettuce
Wholegrain Mustard
Mixed fruit jam
Sunflower Seeds
Smooth Cottage Cheese / Garlic and Herbs - choose any flavour you would prefer.
Butter or margarine for spreading

Salt and pepper to taste / pack shakers into picnic basket.

The method is self explanatory from looking at photos.

The jam was mixed with some of the wholegrain mustard and drizzled over the sausage mixture. Also added extra mustard to the sausage layer as well.

The sunflower seeds really give this sandwich an extra crunch. I noticed that there were also some raisins in the bread besides the seeds.

Best way of assembling them, is to put the first and second layer on tray towards each other, with filling in the middle and repeat the same with the third and fourth layer. Also makes for easier handling!
