I am not affiliated with the Steemit Food Challenge, the names are just similar. The Steemit Photo Challenge has been around for 8 weeks now, and fairly established with the community.

I suggest that you join the #foodchallenge channel on steemit.chat and speak with someone in there. I'm sure that the organiser has not run off with the money, there is probably a reason.
