SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry 3 – Existential Seagull - SPC 21
I've run across a few reflective seagulls, but not many. Mostly the few solitary-nesting Herring Gulls that raise their chicks by mountain lakes and streams. But this California Gull seemed deep in thought, reflecting in more ways than one.
Have you ever read Jonathan Livingston Seagull? Tired of the consumer culture of his flock, he learns to embrace flight as a sacrament. He learns, "You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way." Maybe he's thinking of joining Steemit!

Here's a California Gull identification tip: Many gulls have body coloration that looks like this, but the combination of dark eyes and both red and black patches on the tip of their bill, is distinctive.
California Gull - Larus californicus
American Herring Gull - Larus argentatus smithsonianus
Nice pic good luck to you
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I love it!
Thanks!

By gully, he'd be welcome on here...

Never saw an introverted and quiet seagull before.
They are rare, I think. The herring gulls in the mountains are pretty quiet, though. They are busy nesting. It seems odd to see them up there, being all quiet.
