STEEMIT PARK : A Community Hotspot in Brooklyn (Sponsor Update)

Last week was an amazing week for Steemit Park! We landed 4 incredible sponsors and several other generous donations. If you're still interested in supporting - there's plenty of time! Bench / Planter sponsors have until June 23rd (next Friday) to donate.
We're gearing up for a busy few weeks! For those who just discovered this post - the design-build project is called STEEMIT PARK (link here) ... Currently, we're in the process of fundraising and will begin fabrication this week! In order to make this project a reality we need your upvotes and STEEM / SBD donations (no matter how big or small) Here's a little bit more about the project and the awards that we're offering (below).

We are thrilled to have your support and so excited to have such awesome furniture sponsorship in Steemit Park! This week we're doing some mock-ups for bench / planter signage and wanted to share the progress thus far. (See below.) If you have a QR code scanner app on your phone, give it a shot! Each QR code provides a link to that sponsor's Steemit profile page. The pop-up Park (located in Brooklyn) will have tens of thousands of visitors this summer. Your name will be on display! What is Steemit Park?
“Steemit Park” is an interactive community garden in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. Located within the historic Herbert von King Park: Steemit Park is a pop-up installation that will be used to host Steemit meetups, local community events, workshops and dozens of activities throughout the year.

This project will be created, constructed and maintained with 100% STEEM and SBD donations! Your upvotes and donations will help make this community garden a reality. In return, we have some amazing awards for you. What will your STEEM and SBD get you?

Award B : Get a 3D Printed Flower!
Those who donate 50 STEEM or SBD will receive a 3D printed magnolia flower designed and printed by @hitheryon. The flower pays tribute to a special local landmark.
Award C : Sponsor a Bench or Planter!
Get a bench or planter with YOUR name on it! Those who donate 200 STEEM or SBD to the project will be awarded a placard (5” x 12”) with their @ username alongside a QR code link that connects directly to their Steemit.com page.
How to Support with STEEM & SBD?
Simple! Click the “Transfer” button in your Wallet. Direct your donation amount to @hitheryon and make sure to leave a short message in the “Memo” letting us know which reward (a/b/c) you are donating for.
Good For Community, Good for Steemit
This new neighborhood hotspot in the heart of Brooklyn will act as a colorful and dynamic billboard for the Steemit community. We @hitheryon believe that this physical design project is an important and exciting proof of concept for STEEM and Steemit. We want to build something physical, lasting and impactful with cryptocurrency. Tens of thousands of people will visit Steemit Park this summer. Our team @hitheryon will host Steemit workshops and events for the purpose of onboarding community members and activists to the Steemit platform (this includes park visitors, park representatives, volunteers, local residents and more!)
Upvotes and donations will translate directly to funding for furniture, events, park maintenance, beautification and restoration for a neighborhood in need. This project is about discovering new ways of using STEEM and Steemit for social good!

Yes, I would love to participate in the community and do it in person. This would be great for me because I have lots of comments and questions. Like here is a dumb question ( I like asking questions that are dumb because thats when you learn the most) kids should start to understand STEEM and CRYPTO right ? ... the sooner the better!!? Anyway everything sound really nominative and COOL

WOW! This sounds really awesome. I just joined STEEM this month and it has been one surprise after another!! I live in North New Jersey and travel to New York all the time driving uber.... Next time I'm in town i'm going check this out.
That's awesome! Keep in mind that we haven't broken ground just yet! We're currently working on fabricating all of the furniture and everything should be installed in the Park towards the end of this month / beginning of July. Thanks for your support @ryan313!

Great project! I would find a way to fund a little free library to be there if it's something you guys would think about having. Not sure how much it would take to make and fill with books though!
That's a fantastic idea! I really like the notion of the free library. I saw one at Concrete Plant Park in the Bronx a couple years ago and it was a big success (although tough to keep track of). Thanks for the feedback!
