Steemit Name Challenge - What's @supernovastaffy?

I came across this Steemit Name Challenge a couple of weeks ago and am only just getting around to participating now. I found this challenge while exploring the Steemit rabbit hole and came across an entry from @nomadicsoul. Thank you for the nomination!

I've been meaning to explain my username for a while now - so please read on to find out where @supernovastaffy came from!

How did I choose @supernovastaffy?

If you've been following me for awhile you probably would have realised my username is derived from my dog - Nova. Everytime I need to choose a username for a new account or game etc - she's always the go-to inspiration. Steemit was no different and supernovastaffy was the first thing that came to mind.

I was originally creating a dog account where I would share pictures and videos of Nova only (to go along with her IG account). I wanted to create another separate account for my own blogs but soon discovered that only 1 Steemit account is allowed to be created for free. So I ended up just using @supernovastaffy for both dog-related posts and my own personal blogs.

Why supernova though?

This was the first picture we ever saw of Nova when she was only a few weeks old. Still with her breeder and litter. Her blue eyes and dark, black fur reminded us of space and Nova was a shortened version of supernova (a space terminology). Of course, her eye colour has since developed and changed to brown but her fur is still jet black.

Why staffy?
She's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (crossed with something else we're unsure of). Staffy for short.

What's my real name?

Frances or Frankie as a nickname. My husband is probably the only person that calls me Frankie.

Schneider is my married surname. I know I'm a confusing mix. My name doesn't go with what I look like. I'm Chinese-looking, Australian-born, with a German surname.

To make matters even more confusing my husband is a half cast Vietnamese with a German surname. His dad's side of the family originated from Germany a long, long time ago. Although 3 generations above him were born in Australia. So basically - half Vietnamese, half Australian.

Would I change my username?

No. Not since I've already committed to this username.

Although, as I explained before I was going to create a second account initially for my personal blogs. I didn't even give it any thought before I found out about the 1 account rule. Perhaps it would've been a play on my real name? Maybe.... frankenschneid? hahaha! I don't know and I guess we'll never know
