Let's Keep The Beach

in #steemiteducation7 years ago (edited)

A cuttlefish bone is lying on the sand of Gampong Jawa beach, Banda Aceh, is that community kitchen waste? or the bones of the cuttlefish that die off and drift to the shore, there is no certainty of its existence and its causes.

Dirty beach is a typical beach in the Banda Aceh City, it can be ascertained in 99.8%, as well as other beaches throughout Aceh, no agency cares about coastal care and the environment, not exception our Government in Aceh. Something that has been patterned in the minds of the people in our place, if the beach is just a fisherman's village.

This photo shot on the KP3 beach, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh, on September 28, 2016.

Rarely seen signs or message boards to the beach visitors, like "Prohibited trash on the beach" or "Help take care of beaches for future of earth". As a result of no warning and supervision from any party, it will be bad for the pollution of the coastal environment, awareness of the environment should be educated at the level of primary school, in order to give awareness about the importance of taking care of the environment, as well as parental guidance on children. The most worrying is a plastic waste.

To make things worse, millions of tonnes of this waste end up in the oceans. Birds, turtles and sealife get tangled in plastic bags and abandoned fishing equipment, or they die from eating plastic debris. Over time, larger pieces of plastic break down into tiny particles called microplastic, which can form a sort of plastic soup. These particles can soak up chemical additives and endocrine disruptors, and when they are eaten and enter the food chain, they can end up on our plates. Sourceec.europa.eu

The dirty beach is a reality that has been accepted by our society. The tourists who are on the beach habitual to it and understand it. The tourists who are on the beach get habitual and understand it.

I took photographs while on vacation with my family on the coast of Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh, around the mouth of the Aceh River. Approximately 100 meters from this beach there are A Landfill Site, Sewerage Treatment Plant, and Blackwater Treatment Plant, managed by Banda Aceh City Government, offering stinging smells are very disturbing our vacation. Even so, this beach can be categorized into clean beaches and the most beautiful beaches in Banda Aceh City, which became the destination of Banda Aceh City residents during the holidays.

Here the photos, I shot it from a close-up angle to avoid the appearance of plastic waste.

de feck!!!
that's very very sad!
don't they have trash cans to throw he trash along the shore?
hmmm... perhaps you and the Aceh community could start a project
Steemit trashcan what do you think?
just buy old lard containers from the famous food chain that starts with M they would probably give it for free to you guys
and then clean, make a trashcan out of them make sure to punch the bottom to allow water to flow
create a post an get sponsorship
damn the sea creatures in Indonesia and the oceans nearby are damned this way

In our place, the trashcan is not a good solution. Although it should be provided.
I think the enabling solution in our place is to create creative ideas such as special training on how to treat waste in the beaches into a promising business bubble. By itself, trash on the beach will be hunted by the community.

create a post an get sponsorship

A brilliant idea, Hope someone will read your idea and will make a post for coastal waste management in Aceh.

The only cleanest beaches in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar are in Lhoknga and Lampuuk. In these two coastal areas, the youth of the local village are very guarding the beauty of their beaches. Sometimes, youths also conduct mass cleansing with environmental activists by collecting plastic waste on the coastal tourist area. In addition, the traders in this area also provide special trash cans for the tourists who visit there. This is an intelligent education for us in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of tourist sites.

Yea, for Aceh Besar may be Lampuuk beach and the coastal in Sabang is slightly better.

Thank you for posting. It’s important to bring things like this out in the open to be able to affect change.

hopefully, the change is realized

I agree. This could be a beautiful beach.
Would be nice as well if it could be cleaned up to help protect the life there.
