One Child, One Gift Box from OCC
A total of fifty kids from age two to fourteen in Boljoon, Cebu received gift boxes last April 30 from Samaritan’s Purse, a Billy Graham ministries in the US. The gift boxes giving is called Operation Christmas Child (OCC). The mission of the Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to the needy children all over the world with the help of local churches all over the world in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ (The Greatest Journey copyright 2009&2016, page 2).
Inside the gift boxes are toys, clothing, school supplies, slippers, and candies. The child recipient also receives a workbook containing twelves lessons entitled the Greatest Journey. After completing the lessons, a certificate is given to the child. By then the child learns about the Great Creator, Man’s Greatest Problem—Sin, the Greatest Saviour, and how to grow in their relationship with God.
These kids in Boljoon also learn how to care for other kids and learn to have fun. For them, this summer is different from the other summers because they received something special that in memory would always put smiles on their faces. This summer they are given a gift; they are given a chance.

I have received a Samaritan's Box twice before. As I could remember I was just so happy that I sent a reply to the sender. I do hope that they were able to read my response though.

i had received twice too and i befriended both senders.. we used to send snail mail before until highschool. I was still in gradeschool when we started writing each other then when i stepped into college, the connection died... i hope alyssa is still doing good today.
Awesome! That sure was a good experience. The gifts these kids here received did not contain sender’s names anymore.
ahh i see.. it used to have letters and address of the senders.. anyway still a good deed for the samaritan purse
