@shai-hulud, I remember reading Beowulf in school. I can't remember the grade though. The old English was very difficult to understand.
I bet reading it now as an adult would be a more enlightening experience.
Tell me about it.
I can't make heads or tails of the old english text even the middle english translations provide a really challenging read.
There is a pretty good modern English translation on the wikipedia virtual library
