The first year was filled with wild and crazy romance but when the pressure of life steps in and owing to the fact that Felicia wasn't doing anything to support the family financially, it became a different ball game. Felicia was tired of the incessant fight with her husband and wanted to turn a new leaf. So, she prepared her husband favorite food and prayed to God that he accepts her peace offering. She then took her bath and put on her most seductive clothes with a forced smile on her face to welcome the husband. To her utmost Surprised, Francis came back from work with much anger on his face. Felicia was alarmed but she summoned courage and served him his food with hope that his favorite meal will clear the cloud of anger from his face. Without as much as a word of "thank you," Francis ate his food. Out of the corner of her eyes, she watched her husband and prayed to God for a good response from him. Unfortunately, it was a waste. With a loud 🔊  voice enough to disturb a full congregation, he screamed her name.

"Hey Felicia, what poison did you prepare for me."

Felicia knew were this was heading to, so she came quickly to quench his rage.

"sweetheart, why are you talking like this. It took me the whole day to prepare your favorite meal for you with Love, hoping you will enjoy it. Even if the food didn't meet your expectations you can still point it out to me, so that I'll prepare it better."

Francis who was obviously drunk, fling the plate of food towards her direction. Luckily for her, she was able to dodge the plate and it smashed on the wall but the pieces of the broken plate scratched her on the eye, almost blinding her. She was pregnant for the second time. She fell down and watched the blood flow freely from the cut on her eyes. Instead of Francis to be remorseful, he threatened to kill her, if she doesn't go and prepare his ditch and left her lying there injured. Without help from her so called husband, she summoned strength to call her neighbour on the phone to assist her to the hospital. She was admitted in the hospital immediately to avoid another miscarriage and considering the region she was injured in her eyes.

Her neighbourhood friend, Tammy took care of her, till she gave birth and paid all her bills. Francis never bothered for a day to pay a visit till she was discharged from the hospital.

CHAPTER 2

Felicia was scared of going home with the new born baby and decided to go back to her parents house to inform them of what she has been passing through this years.

Her family was furious after hearing her side of the story and summoned him and rebuked him for his horrible actions towards there daughter. Francis promised to take a new leaf if given another chance and promised to change his behavior.

As they got home Francis asked Felicia the reason why she reported him to her family.

"the way you were mistreating me, do you think I'll wait till I'm dead before I react?"

Felicia responded.

At this answer Francis almost poked his fingers into Felicia's eyes.

"You must be crazy!"

Felicia was suprised at Francis reaction. Wondering if it wasn't the same man that promise to change his ways. Indeed Felicia started questioning herself, why she even accepted to go back with him in the first place. Months later, Felicia put to bed a baby boy called "Donald" which made Francis very glad because the boy had a striking image of him. Felicia mum came to take care of her and the baby. Within those period, Francis was in his best behavior.

When Felicia became strong, she decided to discuss with her husband to assist her with money to get a shop to sell provisions and other items to assist the family. Francis on the other hand, saw the business idea as a means of taking money to support his drinking habits rather than using his salary. So, he keyed into the idea and decided to pay the shop rent for her. Francis demanded she go to make inquiry from wholesalers on how much she would buy most of the things. Felicia then insisted that it was not advisable to go empty handed and when they have money, they would go together and buy the goods. Francis picked up offences at her suggestion and promised not to assist her again for not following his instructions.

Months has passed and nothing was put in the shop. She explained her plight to her neighborhood friend "Tammy" who was in the same line of business she was about going into. Tammy agreed to help her out by connecting her to her wholesale customers to give her the goods for free and promised to pay back the money at a later date.

Within a space of two years, the business flourished and was able to train her daughter in an expensive university. She was now earning much higher than her husband. The husband decided to speak to his wife and told her that is unwise to train only Her daughter and leave the son in a public secondary school. He promised to pay half, if she will take care of the remaining half. She accepted and took the responsibility upon herself to pay the first year fees on her own considering the husband staggering income.

About four months later when the money Francis promise to pay for the fees wasn't forthcoming, she demanded for it. The husband blazed in anger and slapped her for demanding the money. Telling her she wants to rob of his predicament on his face because she gave him just little money to pay for the children fees. Felicia was mad at him and decided to cut any ties connecting them. Unfortunately, it was to late, she already had taken in for him again. She tried everything possible to terminate the pregnancy but the baby still managed to survive and was deliver to the world. She named him "God's power" because of his will to live despite the circumstances surrounding his birth.

CHAPTER 3

As Felicia business blossom over the years, she became a wholesaler and became the breadwinner of the house. As the boys begin to grow into adult, they knew all wasn't well with the parents. Felicia has always hidden it from the children. A day came, when Francis had a financial problem at work, Felicia not knowing the pressure her husband was under, came to ask him for the house rent money. It didn't take seconds for Francis to relapse to his old ways and threatened to beat her up. Donald the first son was amazed at his dad's attitude and intercepted the fight between them. Days later, Francis had an accident that made him flashed back at his life and taught him a great lesson. Though he didn't sustain serious injuries, he came back home, called his wife and children and begged them for forgiveness. By then the daughter had gotten married. He promised not to quarrel again.

Donald grew up to become a successful entrepreneur like his mum. Travelled outside the country to further his education and sent his parents car. Donald handed over the car keys to his mum considering the roll she played to his success but with strict instructions that the father also use the car whenever he pleases. Felicia still angry at The way Her husband treated her over the years refused to give him the car and was feeling the heart of God's power with hatred towards his father by telling him the circumstances surrounding his birth. Hearing all this made God's power bitter towards his dad and took sides with his mum. Felicia was still not satisfied until she had paid back part of what she felt Francis has done to her. Donald got back from Europe and Francis explained all what he has been going through in the hands of Felicia and his younger brother. Donald tried to settle them but it wasn't futile.

Time came, when Francis and Felicia wanted to use the car at the same time. As Francis took the key to go out, Felicia held him by the trouser, telling him she'd the right to drive the car. Donald heard his parents arguing seriously. Before he could come out to intervene, Due to the serious struggle, Francis collapsed and died on his way to the hospital.

Donald was infuriated by his mother unrepentant heart towards there dad and decided to throw her out of the house he built for them since he didn't consider her his mum any longer. God's power who has always supported the mother shouted at his brother to stop such nonsense act. Out of anger, Donald slapped his brother and ordered him to keep quiet.

God's power ran into the house, took a knife 🔪 and stabbed his brother to death. God's power tried to run away but was caught by neighbors that was present at the scene. He was beaten up and sent to prison. The judged prosecuted him and sentenced him to death by hanging for first degree murder.

It was at this point Felicia started to grieve. Her unforgiving Heart had brought all this disaster to her family.

This story carefully written, really speak volumes to those who have decided never to let go and have hardened their hearts towards forgiving one another. I had experience and this was actually between my dad and my sister. My dad was never ready to forgive my sister for her teenage pregnancy and threw her out of the house and honestly life became very difficult for our sister who had no hope but to end up with other relatives elsewhere. Now year went by and as a lady she ended up marrying and given birth to more children. She couldn't continue her education because there was no support. Now my father falls very sick and almost at the verge of dying and my sister showed up to help him. Honestly he wept the whole time and regret not helping her out when she needed him most. There I learnt two lessons, one is never harden our heart to forgive and the other is to let go like my sister did. We should learn to forgive each other and love one another unconditionally even as our father in heaven does. A lot of marriages have failed because of unforgiveness. There's nothing more damaging than the effects of unforgiveness in our lives. When we embrace unforgiveness it requires that we replay the offense over and over again in our mind in order to feed the negative emotions and keep the anger alive

Thank you so much.. 4 d rare privileged to be among the top in your list. I do appreciate it.

Forgiveness is a virtue we must all imbibe, strains in human relationships are inevitable and how we handle such strains determine the preservation of loss of such relationships.

It's like a rollercoaster of emotions and unfortunate twists. Unforgiveness and violence are telltale signs that a union wasn't Planted on the solid rock.
