This is really great (just like all the other plans on this series)! :D

It could be combined with a history lesson, if you're looking into a war period, show them a proper related film, have a discussion in class and let the children reflect upon the causes and effects of war. Then you could move on to the STEM project.

If you'd like to take it even further, since war is a reality in the world, you can make a complementary project on organisations that protect war victims.
