Expansion and shrinkage

In physics we know that substances in nature have a tendency to expand when the temperature is hot and shrink when the temperature is cold. During the day, the sun illuminates the surface of the earth, so the temperature during the day becomes hot. Conversely, at night, the sun does not illuminate the surface of the earth, so the temperature at night becomes cold. This affects the power cord. The cable will expand (increase in length) during the day due to heat and shrink (get shorter) at night because there is no sun.
If the power cord is installed too tightly, the cable will shrink so short when the night weather is too cold. Because the shorter the cable cable will be very strong. This can result in the cable breaking. Meanwhile, if installed loose when shrinking at night, the cable can still make room to shrink so that it becomes a little more straight but not broken. That is why the power cable is installed loosely, so that when the night temperature is very cold, the cable is not too tight so it does not break.
Could anyone ask further why not be installed tightly at night? Is not the cable will relax during the day and return to its original size when nightfall. At first glance, this kind of thinking seems reasonable. We can indeed determine how tight the cable is based on the estimated temperature. However, it is very possible that there is an erroneous bias in the estimation system, thereby increasing the risk of cable breakage.
