Why The Snakes Are Afraid of Cats (An Original Children's Story)

Long time ago, before humans ever happened to exist, all the animals lived together in the jungle. Big and small, wild and tame, they all got along very well – except for the snake.

The snake was a cunning and arrogant creature. He would always take advantage of the fact that the other animals were afraid of him. He would attack them restlessly and get away with it. Little did he know, the cat was never afraid of him.

The cat never cared about anything in general. Just as long as the other animals stayed away from his food and they would just let him sleep, he’s all good. He never hurt anyone and in return, the other animals looked up to him.

But the snake was not impressed. He wanted to test the cat’s courage. He decided to visit the feline creature. The cat was asleep when the snake arrived. The latter felt as if luck was on his side because he thought that the cat would end up helpless.

He started to crawl towards the sleeping cat and accidentally touched him on the tail. The cat was awake in an instant and poised for attack. The snake tried to avoid his miserable fate but it was too late. The cat has already aimed his claws at the snake and put an end to his arrogance.

The other animals saw this and cheered for the cat. Now, they have nothing to be afraid of. Since then, no one ever bothered the cat again when he is asleep.

In our generation, snakes are still known to be afraid of cats as they had been in the past. But as far as I know, cats are no longer that grumpy when you wake them up. :D
