Color Influence on Child Brain Development

Color plays an important role when you want to decorate a child's room. It is important to choose the right color to stimulate the child's development. Because color affects the development of child psychology and color can create a certain impression in terms of creating a comfortable atmosphere indoors.

In addition, color can be used as a communication tool with children, because it can be easier in terms of responding to the language. With color, children will learn to express themselves. Children will be more confident with creative with color.


Research conducted by researchers from Curtin University Australia found that students claimed to be more calm while studying in a bright paint room. But the facts in the field found that students who study in the room with a bright paint color can actually be more focused, more thorough and also more impressive.

You must be smart in choosing the right color to stimulate the child's brain development. Because color has an effect on the child's psychological development.


Here below some types of colors along with their meaning:

  1. White
    Colors that symbolize joy, peace, purity and cleanliness.
  2. Yellow
    This color is believed to calm nerves and is able to stimulate muscle activity.
  3. Blue
    The blue color signifies confidence, peace and wisdom and can help calm the child's nerves, as well as provide a good sleep at night.
  4. Green
    Green is a color that denotes refreshment and helps to strengthen self-esteem and ignite hope.
  5. Red
    This color signifies gallant, desire and can make your child become more enthusiasm.
  6. Purple
    This color signifies a power, luxury and royalty when it comes in darker shades. This color can help generate frustration and also sadness in children.
  7. Chocolate and gray
    Chocolate and gray are some of the earth's tones. This color is the ideal color for children who are hyperactive and full of energy. This color provides relaxation, warmth, comfort.
  8. Orange
    Orange color. Confident, friendly and full of cheerfulness.
  9. Black
    Black. If you like black, you are a strong and aggressive type.

Each color does have its own effect for children. Color has long been known to have an effect on psychology and human emotions.

Warm colors are generally able to give effect to increase energy. Use it only as an accent in your room. Due to excessive use of warm colors is not recommended. Especially for children who are fairly active.
