All seeds and nuts are made more bio-available to the walls of our intestinal tracts, if the phytic acid is soaked off of them first. It's a protective mechanism that plants and trees that produce seeds and nuts have. It's meant to protect them, so they'll pass through birds, animals and humans, intact and still grow once they're excreted.
