RE: STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE #24 - WINNERS & Exciting NEW THEME Announcement - All Welcome for SBD Prizes!

in #steemitculinarychallenge7 years ago (edited)

So I combed over the entries today and truly took an unbiased look at them. All entries were absolutely killer, to say the least. And honestly, hands down, I believe that @kotturinn should've won this with ease. She nailed all requirements and even went above and beyond with multiple variations. Her photo quality was insane as was her attention to detail.

@rebeccaryan, @homeartpictures, @liliana.duarte, @patelincho, and @kostiayatsuk all completely deserved to be in the top tier for certain as they all, also nailed it! But on the other hand, I feel as though it would be wrong to not voice my opinion since I saw the amount of time, dedication, and effort that @kotturinn put into this. From coming up with the ideas to locating special ingredients and particular sakes and going through with finding the stores and buying them, let alone the preparation and presentation. Like I said earlier, I truly took a step back and looked at this with an unbiased perspective, placing all side-taking where it belongs, to the side.

Amazing job, everyone, that is for sure! But @kotturinn, to me, I think you really went above and beyond on this one, and if I thought someone else out-shined you in this event, you know I'd say so haha.

Splashing over 500 Steem to you so that you can power it up, you deserve it.

Best of luck to all in future competitions! Seeing such effort is amazing. People rule!

Thanks for your thoughts @matt-a, and what a lovely gesture sending your talented wife some well-deserved steem :-) I do hope she continues putting up her recipes for this challenge, as I have no doubt the quality of her cooking & presentation, and her efforts, will win her more trophies in the weeks to come!

The judging is 100% down to the guest judges, and they award prizes not only based on quality and effort, but upon personal tastes too. It's not surprising really, as we all tend to go for the things we like eating, even if another dish would be considered tastier by someone else. It was a very tough decision, as it always is for the judges, because they are honest and kind people who'd love to award 1st place prizes to each participant if it were possible. Most of the participants put in just as much thought, time and effort as your wife. But remember, @kotturinn did win a prize, and others didn't, and it was extrememly generous of @boxcarblue to step in with the 4th place prize for this week since the regular sponsor is nowhere to be found!

Please also remember this isn't a professional competition with 1000s of supporters and cash flowing... its existence is to spark energy, creativity and community on Steemit, started and run by regular people to give Steemians a chance to get their recipes and blogs noticed, and shouldn't be viewed as anything other than fun with the occasional bonus of a few SBD or steem.

I hope you both understand and can feel proud of @kotturinn's well-deserved trophy! I for one was super impressed when I saw her entry, and excited too, as I felt instantly the quality of her cooking equalled the quality provided by other regular participants :-)

Thank you very much for the support and positive feedback and that 💶💷💸 too, what a lovely surprise!
I guess I'm just gonna have to try harder next time haha

Aw @kotturinn, it's not just a case of effort... no-one could ask for more effort than you put in! Please don't be disappointed, you should be delighted instead! I always put in 100% when I was a participant, but out of 12 entries I won 1st place 5 times, so not even half. But entering this competition not only got my blog noticed by a lot of people, but I've met some truly wonderful people through this challenge and it's given me something special to connect to in the Steemit community. Hopefully in time you'll feel you're getting much more out of participating in the SCC than just winning prizes :-)

@woman-onthe-wing, thank you very much for the kind words and support. I am still going to take part in this challenge even if I never win haha, it's fun and I do enjoy cooking!

I'm really happy to hear that @kotturinn :-) And I hope you have fun cooking your Easter treats this weekend! Have a good one :-)

Thank you!
HAPPY EASTER!
