Blog 04: **"Antique - "Where Mountains meet the Sea"**

in #steemitachievers7 years ago (edited)

Hola queridos amigos en Steemit!
Tengo algo que compartir y espero que te guste :)

It is my pleasure sharing you this beautiful experience I had during my vacation in Antique. It was after our Accreditation in the school, where it was really exhausted, sleepless night, running out of time to complete the documents needed in my area. After my class I traveled 13 hours going home just to do accreditation stuff, and I have two programs to pass and I’am holding one unit in school which is one of the biggest points of all the areas. So, I was really exhausted, and preoccupied, but fortunately, we made it. From level II to Level III.

(Preparation and Closing Accreditation Days!)

Oh yes, I need R & R (Rest and Relaxation), after 2 months traveling Cebu to Samar and vice Versa.I deserved this, since my two sister is working in Antique so I decided to went there and relax for about 1 week. I traveled 12 hours from Cebu to Ilo-ilo and 2 hours from Ilo-ilo to Antique, and from the San Jose Antique, I need to travel almost 45 minutes to the San Remigio Antique where my sisters are staying,(Do I really want to relax?cause travelling itself is really exhausting hahah!) It's kinda lengthy travel. But it is all worth it, I was really amazed seeing nature, fresh air, green mountains, and amazing beaches.

(Kruhay Antique!!!at last after a long travel!!)

I drove a motorbike and roamed around the place, surrounded by Greenery Mountains and it is so refreshing :) Province feels indeed. We went to Aningalan where you see beautiful rice terraces; we are on the top bunk so we got beautiful shots while we are on the road. Aningalan is the last Mountain in San Remigio. One thing that you really need to see on the way to Aningalan is the view overlooking the lowland towns and the landscape. It is really beautiful.

(A greenery view from Aningalan!)

We also went to “Bugtong Bato Falls”, and we walked about 30 minutes to reach the place, I hate long walking but I need to, just to witness the beauty of the falls. Yes! to be honest It was my first time to see “waterfalls”, that’s why I’am very pleased and amazed when I saw the place where water flows over a vertical drop. OMG! One of the best creation of God.

(30 minutes walking is all worth it)

(Another way to look at meditation is to view the process of thinking itself as a waterfall!)

After going to the waterfalls, My sister told me that I also need to experience relaxing in the Kawa, at first I am afraid because I might be cooked hahaha, but when I am already at the “KAWA” wow the water was so relaxing added its soothing aroma. To all the people who don’t know about “KAWA” – It is used as a bath tub, a giant vat used in muscovado mills years’ back. The traditional hot bath uses firewood to heat up the water in a kawa blended with different herbs, truly relaxing for bathers. It should be in your list when you visit Antique.:)

(Sleeping Beauty in the KAWA! Haaay, stress free ..hahah)

Mararison Island is also one the beautiful beach in Antique, just like the beaches in my hometown, it has also a white sand. My sister told me that the sand is like in Boracay, Oh well!, I can’t justify because I never been there. Maybe next time I’ll let you know if it is true hehe! But for now, I can say that I felt the Sunkissed and the sea breezed, very calming!

(Very peaceful and wonderful Mararison Beach)

Experience in Antique is worth remembering, and that was my first time to the place and for the record, that was also my first time traveling alone. Yeeeehey! I made it :D, I am finally an independent, strong woman :D and I am looking forward to travel all around the Philippines for now. Out of the country? hmmm, it’s on my list hehe..

Thank you for this amazing blog about my beautiful hometown <3 though I've never been to those places yet because I grew up in San Jose, transferred to the city and never been back there for vacation for a long time.

You're very much welcome @ailenepm, your place is worth to blog :) I am really inlove with that place, I went to San Jose everyday, when I was in my vacation, just a long travel indeed going to the City. hehe, try to explore your place, there's a lot of hiding paradise there :)

Hope to see you there when I go back to Antique, I think that is the venue of this coming National Folk Dance Workshop.
