Steemit Statistics December 2017

Since the last time I did a post about the Steemit.com statistics we have seen a growth of both the value of Steem/SBD and new Steemians. It will be interesting to see if the numbers of December reflect that growth

How many people visit Steemit.com?

This statistic shows the number of visits to the Steemit.com site

We can see an 80% increase in visitors from last month. That is a huge increase of visits. The visits now total 34.36 million which is a huge difference with my last post in september. The total visits back then totaled 15.59 million, that's more than a 100% increase in visits.

More importantly than the total number of visits are the unique visitors (note: this includes visits from different devices like laptops/PC and smartphones). The total of unique visitors is now almost 14 million compared to 4.4 million back in September.

Where do they come from?

As before the USA is in the lead with more than 30% of the visitors originating from the US (and growing at an impressive rate). Korea and India also have impressing growth numbers.

How did they find Steemit?

The people finding their way through search engines (organic search) has increased since my last Steemit Statistics post (from 36% to almost 55%). My only conclusion is that the posts on Steemit are generating more and more traffic to the site.
The direct number has gone down which indicates that more new visitors are coming to the site compared to the regulars visitors.

Who is generating the Traffic?

In my last update a lot of referring Websites were Steem related like Steemit.io and Steemchat. But now the top 5 consists of 4 cryptocurrency sites. It seems that Steemit is becoming an important source for crypto information.

What are they searching for?

These are the keywords people searched that lead them to the Steemit website.

The most popular and still increasing keyword is steemit followed by that always popular topic bitconnect scam.

A lot of people still seem to confuse Steem with the popular gaming platform Steam.

Social media interest

This is the traffic originating from the social media sites.

Facebook still generates the most traffic but the other social media sites are catching up. Compared to my last Steemit Statistics post, Facebook has gone down from 44% to 36% and the traffic generated by Twitter, Youtube and Reddit has gone up. Quora is new in to the top 5 beating Linkedin.

Talk about a short attention span. The average visit duration is about 5 minutes. Be sure to take this into account for the length of your posts.

Well that's a surprise, most visitors are male between the age of 25-34. I figured that most Steemians would be male but I did not expect this big of a difference.

Looking at the Stats we can see that Steemit is doing more than well. Business is booming. The posts seem to be generating a lot of traffic to Steemit.com. Especially in December things have really picked up. My advice is to keep on posting quality content so that we can keep the momentum going.
